Specialty Ammunition

Not all ammunition is created equal. It is not all about full metal jackets, hollow points and armor piercing rounds. Most people hear the word ammunition and they think of a cartridge – a single unit of ammunition that consists of a bullet, propellant, a primer and the cartridge case. Well, think again because Keepshooting.com has an entire section devoted to specialty ammunition that, for the most part, is completely unlike the aforementioned description.

Describing a cartridge as I just did would be perfectly okay in most situations. But when speaking of blank cartridges, you could not be more inaccurate. That is because blank cartridges do not contain bullets, which makes them a perfect choice for our specialty ammunition section. Our current best-seller is our German 5.56x45mm NATO/.223 Remington blanks, which come in packages of 30 rounds.

Our specialty ammunition section is certainly not limited to blank cartridges. We also carry a variety of less-than-lethal shotgun ammunition, including rubber slugs, rubber buckshot and ballistic bean bag rounds. These items are popular with the law enforcement community as well as those looking to keep certain animals under control without putting them six feet under.

And if blank cartridges and less-than-lethal shotgun ammunition do not have you excited, consider our tracer ammunition. Tracer ammunition refers to bullets that are manufactured with a small pyrotechnic charge in their base. When the cartridges are fired, the propellant ignites the charge, causing a combustion that burns bright enough for the trajectory of the bullet to be followed by the naked eye. We carry tracer ammunition in a variety of popular calibers, including 5.56x45mm NATO, 7.62x39mm and 7.62x54mmR.
