Controversial Books

I'd love to say something controversial here, but that just wouldn't be very professional. I can rest assured that we've all experiences some type of controversy. Controversy – the prolonged state of public dispute, usually stemming from some matter of race, religion, gender, politics, philosophy and the like that usually results in some form of negativity. It can often inspire anger, hatred, protests, censorship and even violence. Of course, this concept is completely relative as controversy boils down to personal opinion. Nevertheless, controversy continues to drive divisions between us all.

Books are no strangers to controversy either. Plenty of books have been labeled controversial for any number of reasons, stemming from people’s opinions of what is and is not acceptable for a person to read. Many times, a book will be condemned for its depiction of graphic violence, sex, language, drug use or themes. Over the years, numerous books have been banned by schools, libraries and even governments. Aside from ancient religious texts, America has had its share of controversial books, perhaps most notably “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn,” which has come under fire for its inclusion of certain racial epithets. Others that have been targeted include “The Catcher in the Rye” and “The Communist Manifesto.”

Here are Keepshooting.com, we are very familiar with controversy. After all, we are a firearms and ammunition retailer. That said, we also offer a selection of books some may view as controversial. Referring to his work “The Anarchist Cookbook,” William Powell has said, “This book is for anarchists…those who feel able to discipline themselves on all the subjects that are currently illegal and suppressed in this country.” We currently stock and sell the book. You may also be interested in “Brass Knuckle Bible,” a guide to concealed weapons. If you like controversy, you’ll love this page.
