Controversy – the prolonged state of public dispute, usually stemming from some matter of race, religion, gender, politics, philosophy and the like that usually results in some form of negativity. Controversy can inspire anger, hatred, protests, censorship and even violence. Of course, this concept is completely relative as controversy boils down to personal opinion. Nevertheless, controversy continues to drive divisions between us all. |

Films are no strangers to controversy either. Scores of films have been labeled controversial for any number of reasons, stemming from people’s opinions of what is and is not acceptable for viewing. They may be condemned for their depiction of graphic violence, sex, language, drug use or themes. America has had its share of controversial films, perhaps most notably “A Clockwork Orange” and “The Last Temptation of Christ.” |

Anyone interested in controversial politics is sure to be interested in “Terror Storm,” a documentary examining the storied history of government-sponsored terrorism. One of our more controversial films, “How I Steal Cars,” follows Pierre Smith, a repo man that has stolen thousands of cars, as he shows you the ins and outs of motor vehicle theft.
