Military Publications

The United States Armed Forces, in addition to the federal government, deals with a lot of sensitive information, which often brings about an heir of mystery that pervades each organization. Sometimes, extraordinary measures are taken to protect this information in order to prevent it from being used to jeopardize national security. With a range of top-secret security clearances and classification levels that include restricted, confidential, secret and top secret, it’s no wonder why certain military publications spark public interest when they are released.

Over the years, several classified documents and reports have been declassified and released in full to the American public. Among the most recent are the “Pentagon Papers,” known officially as “United States – Vietnam Relations, 1945–1967: A Study Prepared by the Department of Defense” and “Iraq: Status of WMD Programs,” both of which were fully declassified in 2011. The “Pentagon Papers” is a detailed history of U.S. involvement in Vietnam from 1945 to 1967 while the WMD status report describes U.S. knowledge of the Iraqi WMD programs prior to the 2003 invasion.

If you’re curious as to why I am telling you this, it’s because Keepshooting.com has a slew of firearms-related military publications, some of which were once classified, now available for purchase. We have technical manuals published by the Department of the Army, including manuals for the SKS and the AK-47 that relay just about any piece of information you could ask for. “First Aid for Soldiers” is a first aid manual that covers all aspects of possibly every injury a solider may sustain in the field. There is even a Czech military T-55 tank diagram poster! This is one section of our website you just can’t ignore.
