Any time I decide to take up something new, I am met with the same advice – practice makes perfect. For a while I took it to heart. Hours of guitar playing were met with even more hours of disappointment as seemingly no amount of practice could make me perfect – or even mediocre. But then I found out that it is not practice that makes perfect, it is perfect practice that makes perfect. Without lessons and a stern unwillingness to pay for them, I was left with no knowledge of how to practice perfectly. And so ends the story about how I came to sell my guitar.

Shooting firearms is an entirely different story. Zero in a rifle, line up the sights and get in all the practice you can. Plus, the advent of training aids like tracer ammunition just makes perfect practice that much easier. Tracer ammunition refers to ammunition that is manufactured with a small pyrotechnic charge in its base. When the cartridges are fired, the propellant ignites the charge, which causes a combustion that burns bright enough for the trajectory of the bullet to be followed by the naked eye. Now that I have your attention with a mention of the word "combustion," pick up a few boxes of our new Federal XM856 5.56 tracer ammunition.

Designed for precision practice, each box of Federal XM856 5.56 tracer ammunition contains 20 rounds of 64gr full metal jacket ammunition. Boxer-primed and suitable for reloading, these tracer cartridges are perfect for the AR-15 platform.

Who needs guitars when you have AR-15s and Federal XM856 5.56 tracer ammunition? Sell off your failed hobbies today and use the money to stock up on tracer ammo – only $12.07 per box.

The Federal Cartridge Company, headquartered in Anoka, Minnesota, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alliant Techsystems. The company was founded in 1916 and has since become one of the finest names in the ammunition industry. Today, the company manufactures a complete line of rimfire ammunition, centerfire ammunition and shotshells – they even have a production contract with the United States Military. Federal ammunition has been used during multiple Olympic Games in which the U.S. team brought home gold, silver and bronze medals, which speaks to the quality of the brand.

Federal XM856 5.56 tracer ammunition is a product from the American Eagle line of ammunition. American Eagle ammunition is marketed as precision practice ammunition, and though it is relatively inexpensive, it offers an uncanny accuracy on par with the more expensive brands. Like all Federal ammunition, Federal XM856 5.56 tracer ammunition is manufactured at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP) in Independence, Missouri, which is an interesting aspect of the ammunition in itself. LCAAP is a government-owned, contractor-operated munitions facility that was originally established in 1941 for the manufacture and testing of small arms ammunition for the United States Army. Since 2001, it has been operated by Alliant Techsystems and is the largest manufacturer of small arms ammunition for the U.S. Army.

That said each package of Federal XM856 5.56 tracer ammunition contains 20 non-corrosive, brass-cased cartridges. Each cartridge contains a 64gr full metal jacket, which provides for increased muzzle velocities. These cartridges have been observed to travel at speeds in excess of 3,000 fps. Upon receiving the ammunition, you will notice that each bullet features an orange tip, which signifies the fact that it is a tracer round. Because they are tracer rounds, each cartridge contains a small amount of pyrotechnic material in the base of the bullet that will allow you to trace the trajectory of the bullet after it has been fired. All Federal ammunition is manufactured using fully-reloadable, newly-manufactured brass cases as well as non-corrosive Boxer primers.

Applications for Federal XM856 5.56 tracer ammunition are virtually limitless. And because it is made by the Federal Cartridge Company, you know what type of quality to expect. Just be careful – using tracer ammunition is capable of causing fires when used in dry, windy conditions. Consider this 5.56x45mm NATO tracer ammunition for:

- Training aid

- Reloading

- Much more…
