Fully Automatic Conversion Manuals

Contrary to popular belief, fully automatic firearms are legal to own in the United States. In order to obtain a fully automatic firearm, one must complete the following steps: submit an application to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; pass a rigorous background check and provide a set of current fingerprints; and pay a one-time fee of $200 dollars for a Federal Tax Stamp, per firearm. Of course, certain firearms may carry restrictions and some states may have established laws that prevent ownership.

An automatic firearm is any firearm that mechanically ejects a spent casing and loads another cartridge into the chamber automatically. Automatic firearms can be further classified as being either semi-automatic or fully automatic. Semi-automatics, upon each trigger pull, will fire a round, eject the casing and load another cartridge into the chamber. Fully automatic firearms will continuously fire, eject, and load cartridges until the magazine has been exhausted, provided the trigger is held.

Keepshooting.com offers a plethora of fully automatic conversion manuals that cover a wide range of firearms, including the AR-15 and the UZI. These manuals are excellent sources of information and each one includes step-by-instructions, clear photographs, diagrams and schematics that clearly illustrate the modifications necessary to convert the titular semi-automatic to a fully automatic. As always, we insist that you check all local laws for restrictions and prohibitions that apply to fully automatic firearms.
