John Inglis Canadian Browning Hi-Power

John Inglis of Canada WWII Production version of the Browning Hi Power pistol. During WWII, Nazi Germany invaded and took capture of the FN factory. FN engineers smuggled the drawings for the Browning Hi Power to Canada where John Inglis of Canada (now Whirlpool!) began war time production of the pistol. The Inglis Hi Power is held in such high regard by the Canadian military that it is still the standard issue weapon to Canadian forces serving in Afghanistan.

This particular John Inglis of Canada Browning Hi Power is serial number 3T2124. The pistol has had its original finish restored so that it looks just as good as it did the day it was made. The frame and slide share the same serial number, with all other parts believed to also be original. As this gun is over 60 years old, there was some minor pitting on the slide, attributed to its use in the British colony of Malaysia after the end of WWII.

This gun represents a unique piece of history that is rare in any firearm. It did not get sold to a collector after WWII and then simply sit in a safe.
