Being a left-handed student made school slightly annoying. Just about every desk in high school and college was for right-handed students. Not to mention my arm bumping into the right-handed students next to me. Anyway, back to the M16 triangular handguards.
As I mentioned, these M16 triangular handguards are authentic USGI items. They were taken off of rifles used by the United States Military in the 1970s. Measuring approximately 12 inches long, these handguards are perfect for those seeking to build a Vietnam Era M16/AR-15 and will fit perfectly on a 20-inch barrel. The handguard is composed of a plastic outer shell that features a matte black finish as well as an interior heat shield constructed from aluminum, which is designed to protect the user’s hands from the heat of the barrel. Each handguard is in serviceable condition, meaning that they are all fully functional but may have some cosmetic wear and tear. After all, they were used by members of the United States Military. If you ask me, that just makes them all the more desirable.
The likelihood that you have a right side triangular handguard and not the left is probably slim to none. However, this makes a great replacement should anything ever damage the left. At only one dollar a piece, there is almost no reason not to pick one up. You may also consider the M16 triangular handguard for any of the following:

- Reenactments
- Stage and theater production
- Movie production

The Iconic M16
The M16 is easily one of the most iconic firearms of all-time, second only to the AK-47. The M16 is a lightweight rifle that is gas operated and features a rotating bolt actuated by direct impingement. It fires the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge and has spawned numerous variants throughout the years. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time or space to delve into this fantastic firearm. If you have a deeper interest, do some research.
