Exactly as described. Approximately 44" long with black painted steel fittings or buckles and with copper rivets. Some later L1A1 slings are of dark green nylon web construction; these are dark green canvas web. As per the picture, the metal fittings have some paint chipped off but there's no rust or pitting to be found anywhere. There is no apparent fading of the canvas material in the specimen I received nor is there any hint of abrasion or torn material. Should possibly have the grading of Excellent to Very Good. There's an added bonus (or detriment) to the one I received in that there are three barely legible surnames written in black magic marker on the side of the sling that would face the wearer's shoulder along with a portion of the servicemember's ID number; so if you're Pollard, Moore or Williams, I have your service rifle sling! Great price on these slings as well and would be suitable for the Lee-Enfield series in a pinch, especially if you have a post-war No.4 Mk 2. (Posted on 5/21/11)Quality Price Value
