I have several 91/30 MN rifles and 2 M44 Carbines as well as 2 Nagant revolvers. The Russians really know how to build firearms that last forever with a little care. Since I'm here and reviewing my Mosins, I am going to clear up a couple of myths. The Tula is no better than the Izzy and the hex receiver is not any stronger than the round one. However, the hex guns are pre war and the fit and and finish is better than the quicker to make round receivers. No more hex's were made after war broke out. Since there are less Tula rifles made than Izzys (see my nagant revolver review) the best 91/30 to collect would be a Tula hex. I happen to have a 1930 Tula hex with a laminated stock and it is one of my most prized curio rifles and it shoots like a dream. No scratches or dings and all matching numbers. I would love to get my hands on M44 of the same description. I do have 2 but neither are hex. So I hope you understand now that Hex's aren't more desirable for their strength but rather their rarity and nice fit and finish. The Tula is no better it's just more rare because the Tula arsenal was a much smaller factory. If KS gets anymore in I will be sure to buy a couple more. Lets hope they get another batch. Ordered my mosin nagant 91/30 a few months back and have just gotten around to writing the review. All I have to say is "WOW!" It's an unbeatable rifle at an unbeatable price from an unbeatable company! Took me a bit to get the cosmoline off, but once that was done the rifle shown like new! I received my newest acquisition this morning, a Mosin Nagant 91/30 rifle. It is my second one, and it is beautiful! It is in much better shape than my first one, which is in great shape. The wood on the new weapon is practically flawless! It only took about 2 hours to clean all the cosmoline off with mineral spirits. Wiped all the wood down, and sweated the cosmo out of it with a hair dryer, then oiled all the metal and some Pledge on all the wood, and this weapon is ready to rock and roll! there really is no easier way to use your second amendment rights than buying a mosin nagant. This gun is not only extremely cheap to buy and cheap to shoot (considering its shoots a round similar to a .308 most guns in this price range are .22s) however it is cheap only in price, these are some of the most well designed and well made guns in existence. It is because are so numerous that they are so cheap (as of now, who knows how long that will last) (Posted on 1/30/12)

I live locally so I made an appointment to purchase a Mosin Nagant. Mario had them all laying out on a table for me to inspect, was very knowledgable, and helped me pick out a nice pre-war numbers matching Mosin. I got it home and 30 minutes later I had it completely disassembled and all of the cosmoline removed. It is hard to believe that this rifle this nice is over 70 years old! (Posted on 1/27/12)

I did my research before I bought this gun and decided that it was a good gun so I stopped by their warehouse to pick one up the other day and I'm already in love with it. The customer service is unbeatable and the value is the best (thanks Mario). I wasn't expecting such a great condition rifle especially with all the matching serial numbers on the parts. very few nicks on the stock and a great finish as well. The rifling on the barrel is in amazing condition too! The only problem I had was getting the Cosmoline off of every nook and cranny which is expected from a gun that has been in storage for a while. Now that all the Cosmoline is off the bolt moves smooth and freely. I will most likely buy another down the road and definitely from keep shooting . Thanks again Keep Shooting! (Posted on 1/18/12)

This is my 2d 91/30 purchase. I have both a round and a hex receiver, and both are awesome. My wife (5'3", 105lbs) simply loves hers! It was a little heavy in the barrel for her, but with some learned holding techniques, she has no problem with it at all. Shoots straight. Her very first shot, she shaved the nail holding the disc target. Had it been a paper target, it would have been dead center bulls-eye!
Upon receipt, I stripped the weapon and gave it a good cleaning. Take down is quick and easy (idiot proof even). Very simple mechanics inside, and virtually impossible to screw up. Will be buying more for my kids! (Posted on 1/17/12)
