Gerber® Gator Machete Pro

A tough job calls for a tough blade, and at a price like this you will be hard pressed to find one tougher than the Gerber® gator machete pro. Whether you plan to dismember the undead or you just need a companion for your next nature walk, grab a machete.

“Machete” is the name given to any large, cleaver-style blade used for hacking. Typically, they feature a blade between 10 and 24 inches long, perfect for both hacking and slashing motions. They are prominently found in tropical and subtropical areas where they are used to clear thick grass, branches, shrubs and other underbrush. Unsurprisingly, it is often used as a weapon and is actually a common side arm in many underdeveloped nations.

Make the Gerber® gator machete pro your go-to tool for any cutting job. Boasting the legendary Gerber® name, this machete was actually based on the popular Woodman’s Pal (LC-14-B), a machete of strikingly similar design introduced in 1941 for military issue. With the ability to slice through small branches and wood in a single swipe, the gator machete pro includes a number of sharpened edges that make it ideal for a wide range of cutting jobs normally requiring an axe or knife. But you are probably interested in the specifications on this behemoth, am I right?

The Gerber® gator machete pro features an overall length of 16.5 inches and a blade that measures 10.5 inches long. It is 1/8 of an inch thick and is constructed using a high carbon steel, which ensures a strong edge that will remain both durable and reliable for years to come. Not only that, but this material is highly resistant to corrosion and is easily sharpened, excellent news considering the included sharpening stone. The handle, also made using high carbon steel, is wrapped in a rubberized gator grip that provides unmatched comfort as well as a slip-resistant gripping surface. There is also a nylon lanyard built into the handle for extra security, designed to prevent the blade from escaping your hand. Finally, there is a nylon sheath included, designed to protect the blade when not in use. The military-grade sheath is resistant to both mold and mildew, serving to protect your machete even when it is stored in the most undesirable conditions.

I cannot say enough good things about the Gerber® gator machete pro, which is not only a machete but also an axe and a knife. It seems to be weighted perfectly, weighing in at only 18 ounces, and lends itself well to a number of jobs that require cutting, chopping, hacking, trimming, splitting, clearing and just about anything else typical of a blade. Not to mention that whole zombie-slaying aspect that goes along with it. If you have any use for a machete, then you will surely be impressed with the Gerber® gator machete pro. Consider this blade for any of the following:

- Zombie hunters

- Survivalists and survival kits

- Emergency kits

- Fire and rescue

- Hunting

- Camping

- Hiking

- Gardening

- Much more…

Cut down brush and zombies alike with the Gerber® gator machete pro – available now for only $39.95.

Fairbairn-Sykes Fighting Knife

As noted, the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife is not an original surplus item – it is a reproduction, and an excellent one at that. As such, it is in perfect condition, ready for displaying as a collectible or adding to your World War II reenactment gear.

Like many military surplus and reproduction items, the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife, sometimes known as the Fairbairn-Sykes commando knife, has quite an interesting history. It is a double-edged dagger that was designed specifically for hand-to-hand combat. The name “Fairbairn-Sykes” derives from the two men responsible for its development – William Ewart Fairbairn and Eric Anthony Sykes, both of whom were members of the Shanghai Municipal Police in China between the world wars. It was there that they conceptualized what would eventually become the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife, which would play a big role in British close quarters combat during WWII.

The Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife was originally designed and produced in 1941, with only about 2 million original knives produced by the Wilkinson Sword Company. They became famous after seeing use with the British Commandos and the Special Air Service (SAS). Easily recognized by their long, tapered blade and foil-like handle, the fighting knife can easily penetrate the ribcage and inflict damage to vital organs. Additionally, the handle provides for a number of precise grips normally associated with knife fighting.

Through the years, the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife found use in a number of different countries with several units. Additionally, it spawned several copies and served as inspiration for several other fighting knives, including the United States Military’s Office of Strategic Services’ (OSS) dagger and the United States Marine Corps’ KA-BAR. Interestingly enough, the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife itself was produced with a number of different variants, though those details are too lengthy to address here. Typically, the differences were in blade length, crossguard shape and grip pattern. I will, of course, discuss the specifications on the knife advertised here.

Keepshooting.com’s Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife features a blade constructed entirely from 440 stainless steel and includes a black finish. It measures 6.5 inches in length and is about one inch at its widest point, which tapers down to a razor-sharp point and is capable of penetrating both layered clothing and skin. The knife also has an oval-shaped crossguard and a foil-like handle that allows the wielder to take several different fighting grips. There are also three sections of crosshatched knurling designed to provide a secure grip. The knife has an excellent weight distribution which provides great balance. It is a joy to hold. Included for your convenience is a leather sheath. The sheath features a hard plastic tip as well as an elastic band designed to secure the knife. The inclusion of a belt loop makes transport easy.

Though the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife is renowned for its use in hand-to-hand combat, it is typically sought out for its collectability and does pretty well for itself on the surplus market. Those interested in WWII reenactments will surely be drawn to this knife, but you may consider it for any of the following:

- Reenactments

- Collections

- Display piece

- Movie production

- Stage and theater production

- Much more…

At only $24.95, the Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife makes a great gift idea for the military enthusiast in your life.

Note: This item is being sold to you as a collectible. Please check your local laws for any regulations that prohibit the ownership of a knife of this design. To purchase this knife, you must be at least 18 years old. An adult signature may be required when delivery is made.

Since we made it available for sale, the German military NBC suit has been one of our hottest sellers. Unfortunately, I have some bad news. As of this moment, the German military NBC suit is unavailable. Even worse, we are unable to say for sure when we might obtain some more. But with the bad news comes some good news. Our new Belgian NBC suits are not only newer than their German counterpart, but they practically outperform them in every way too. Without further ado, I present the Belgian NBC suit.

The Belgian NBC suit is a set of military personal protective equipment designed specifically to provide protection against nuclear, biological and chemical hazards. When worn correctly, NBC suits cover every inch of the human body and provide a buffer that prevents contamination from any of the aforementioned materials. All garments included with the suit are intended to be worn over normal clothing and uniforms and are typically unrestrictive enough to provide for an exceptional range of motion during extended use. That said you may find the following detailed descriptions of each item in the suit helpful when considering a purchase.

The pullover jacket portion of the Belgian NBC suit enlists a number of features that ensure a tight seal. Most notable is the tight, elastic-bound hood, which is connected to the jacket. This hood includes a small opening that will stretch to fit over gas masks and other breathing apparatuses while holding a tight seal. There are also interior and exterior Velcro® straps located at the neckline to provide an adjustable fit. Velcro® straps are also present at the cuffs, perfect for tightening the cuffs over the included gloves. Finally, there is a drawstring at the waistline. You might also be interested in the plethora of pockets – one oversized pocket on the chest (9 inches by 8 inches) is joined by two smaller sleeve pockets (5 inches by 5 inches). These are ideal for storing maps, gas mask filters, batteries, paracord and other survival items that would prove useful in a disaster scenario.

Next up is the pants. The Velcro® adjustable waistline helps keep the pants up, as do the integral suspenders. Like the sleeves on the jacket, the pant legs are adjustable to form a tight seal around the included overboots. Also like the jacket, the pants are equipped with two oversized cargo pockets, each measuring 9 inches by 7.5 inches.

Also included with the Belgian NBC suit is a pair of impermeable rubber gloves that provides maximum protection against contamination. These highly-durable rubber gloves provide excellent protection and are designed to ensure that your hands never come into contact with any undesirable agents.

Finally, we come to the overboots. These oversized rubber boots were designed with combat operations in mind and include a textured sole for enhanced stability. Like all other components of the Belgian NBC suit, the overboots are designed to be worn over your regular footwear and include a drawstring to provide a tight seal around the leg.

Sizing for these Belgian NBC suits is not precise. They are available in two sizes only – medium/large and large/extra-large. Being that these suits are designed to fit over normal clothing and military uniforms, it is likely that each size will accommodate a range of sizes. If you are on the smaller end of the spectrum, opt for the medium/large. If you are on the larger end of the spectrum, opt for the large/extra-large.

As if my earlier description of the Apocalypse was not scary enough, throw a nuclear, biological or chemical attack into the mix and the situation becomes exponentially worse. Ensure that you are properly prepared with the unissued Belgian NBC suit, priced affordably at $34.95. Consider this suit for:

- Nuclear threats

- Biological threats

- Chemical threats

- Survival kits

- Reenactments

- Collections

- Much more…

Crosman M4-177 Air Rifle

Children cannot own firearms for obvious reasons; but they can own the next best thing. The Crosman M4-177 is a multi-stroke pneumatic air rifle that is designed to look almost identical to an M4, and let me tell you, it looks really cool. I also want to stress again that this is an air rifle. It is not an airsoft gun, nor does it require the use of any C02 cartridges. This is a good, old-fashioned, hand-pumped air rifle. But enough about the boring stuff; you probably want to hear about the rifle itself.

As I mentioned, the Crosman M4-177 truly does resemble an M4. Just about every detail is present and accounted for. Starting from the back of the rifle, we first come to the buttstock, which resembles the USGI M4 six-position buttstock. This one, however, is only adjustable to five different positions.

Then we come to the receiver, which looks almost identical to an M4 receiver, only it is made from plastic. The amount of detail that went into this thing is staggering. From the mag catch button and the bolt hold open to the forward assist and ejection port door, this rifle looks great. The BB loading port, which holds 18 BBs, is cleverly designed to resemble the selector switch. Amazingly, the magazine well actually accepts a magazine, which is included and serves as a storage reservoir for extra BBs. The magazine will store up to 350 BBs. If you prefer to shoot pellets, the rifle comes with a pellet “magazine” that holds five pellets, which is inserted into the ejection port. If we move up from the receiver, we notice a flat top upper with an integrated Picatinny rail system as well as a removable rear sight that can actually be adjusted for windage. If you prefer, the rear sight can be removed and replaced with scopes and other optics, which are sold separately.

Next up is the handguard, which includes another Picatinny rail on its underside for the attachment of a vertical grip, which is sold separately. The handguard is where the pumping takes place. Speaking of pumping, it is probably about time I tell you how this air rifle works. As noted, the Crosman M4-177 is a multi-stroke pneumatic air rifle. This means that the rifle has a lever that must be pumped in order to compress air, which will serve as a propellant. The handguard (lever) is folded down and pumped back up in order to compress air, which is stored within the rifle. The rifle can be pumped up to 10 times before firing. Now, this rifle is also a “bolt-action” rifle in that there is somewhat of an operating handle on the right side of the receiver. After pumping, this handle must be retracted and pressed forward to load a projectile into the chamber. The trigger can then be pulled, which will release the compressed air and propel the projectile. Higher velocities may be achieved with more pumps.

Finally, we come to the front sight. The front sight, like the rear, is removable and can be adjusted for elevation. Additionally, you will find a third Picatinny rail that provides a space for mounting lights, lasers and other attachments.

That is pretty much all there is to the Crosman M4-177. Anyone that is interested in firearms at a young age would be overjoyed to receive an air rifle like this one. You may consider this air rifle for any of the following:

- Hunting

- Pest control

- Recreational shooting (plinking)

- Air rifle competitions

- Much more…

For the price, the Crosman M4-177 is probably one of the best air rifles around. At $79.95, it surely blows the Red Ryder BB gun out of the water. Ralphie Parker would approve, no doubt.

LAI AR-15 Lower Receiver

I have a lot of great information to give you about our new LAI AR-15 lower receivers, but first let me cover the basics. Some of you may still be wondering, “What is a lower receiver?” That is, of course, a perfectly valid question. When building your AR-15, only one component of the rifle is considered a firearm and must be purchased through an FFL-holder – the lower receiver. The receiver is the component of a firearm that houses the operating parts, generally including the bolt carrier group, the trigger group and the magazine well. With the AR-15, the receiver is separated into two components – the lower receiver and the upper receiver. The lower receiver (pictured above) is a solid piece of forged aluminum that houses the entire trigger group and includes the magazine well. The upper receiver houses the bolt carrier group.

The LAI AR-15 lower receiver is on par with just about any other lower receiver you will find on the market today. As noted, it is a MIL-SPEC receiver. Patriots will love the fact that it is completely made in the United States. Speaking of its manufacture, I have a few details on that as well. Upon close inspection, you are likely to notice the presence of a small keyhole on the right side of the receiver, right above the magazine well. This keyhole marking exists to give you some insight into where this receiver was manufactured. The marking is actually known as a forge mark, and it is the mark of a company known as Cerro Forge. This is one of the companies that actually provide a rough forge to one of the four or so companies previously mentioned. Upon receipt of the rough forge, these companies finish the machining before slapping on a logo and distributing them for sale by all of your favorite name brands, including Colt, Bushmaster, Rock River Arms, Smith & Wesson and all the rest. Cerro Forge has actually provided the rough forge for a number of reputable companies, including Colt, Smith & Wesson and more. What I am trying to tell you is that you can trust the LAI AR-15 lower receiver to live up to your highest expectations.

As noted, the LAI AR-15 lower receiver is forged from anodized aluminum and also contains a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, Teflon®) coating, which serves to protect against corrosion. All cutouts, including the safety catch, magazine catch and the bolt hold open are clearly defined and expertly machined. The safety catch is marked traditionally with the words “semi” and “safe.” You will notice that the magazine well includes a grip, something only a select few lower receivers offer. Additionally, there is a “TX” serial number (e.g. TX xxxxxx) for those of you with lone star state pride. With a quality lower parts kit, this lower receiver will be ready for your next build.

Being that this is a MIL-SPEC lower receiver, it is compatible with any number of high-quality upper receivers. Grab a fixed buttstock and slap on an upper receiver with a 20-inch barrel for the classic M16A2-style look, or get a collapsible buttstock with a 16-inch barrel and build an M4. The choices are endless, but it all starts with the LAI AR-15 lower receiver – available now for the competitive price of $99.95.

FN PS90 TR

The FN PS90 TR, and the P90 by association, is easily one of my favorite firearms for a number of different reasons. It is one of the most uniquely designed firearms I have ever come across. Just look at it. It looks like a weapon you would see in a science fiction movie. That said its history deserves a minute or two here.

In the 1980s, NATO sought to replace the 9x19mm Parabellum cartridge and the firearms associated with it, calling for both a new pistol as well as a rifle. They were looking for what they referred to as personal defense weapons – compact but powerful weapons that were designed to provide, as NATO put it, “personal protection in last-resort situations…” In a move very reminiscent of the development of the AK-47, NATO issued a set of standards that both the ammunition and firearms submitted must meet in order to be considered for adoption. Long story short, FN developed the 5.7x28mm cartridge along with the P90, which began production in 1990 and was adopted by the Belgian Special Forces group. Shortly after, the P90 saw its first official action in the Gulf War. Since then, the P90 has entered into service with over 40 nations, even seeing time with the U.S. Secret Service.

All of that history is nice, but it probably will not sell the firearm. Let us briefly discuss the specifications on the FN PS90 TR. Because the P90/PS90 was developed as a personal defense weapon, it features a lightweight and compact design, which makes it an extremely versatile weapons system. The PS90 TR has an overall length of 26.23 inches, a width of 2.30 inches and measures 8.30 inches high. These dimensions were crucial in meeting NATO’s requirement for a firearm that was compact enough to be carried hands-free. As noted, it has a barrel length of 16.04 inches, significantly longer than the short-barreled P90. When empty, the firearm weighs in at a meager 6.39 pounds. The PS90 TR comes equipped with three MIL-STD 1913 rails, perfect for setting it up with high-quality optics, lights and lasers that will allow you to pinpoint any target in its effective range of 200m. If all this sounds great, just keep reading.

One of the best design features on the FN PS90 TR is that it is fully ambidextrous, meaning it can be fired easily by right- or left-handed shooters. This is made possible by the thumbhole stock and the inclusion of fire controls on both sides of the firearm. Both the left and right side of the firearm include an operating handle and a magazine release. The selector switch is located right under the trigger and cases are ejected straight down so as not to interfere with vision. It truly is a joy to fire.

Another noteworthy feature is the magazine, which is mounted on the top of the firearm parallel to the barrel. The cartridges lay in the magazine perpendicular to the barrel, forced to the rear of the weapon by the magazine spring. By way of a spiral feed ramp, the cartridges are rotated 90 degrees before being inserted into the chamber. As noted, a 30-round magazine is included with the purchase of the PS90 TR. However, there are also 10- and 50-round magazines available.

Like I mentioned, the FN PS90 TR is an extremely versatile firearm, perfectly suited to personal protection and defense. Consider the PS90 TR for:

Alamo Horsehair Bag

The Alamo horsehair bag is an authentic, unused prop from the 2004 movie “The Alamo,” which was produced by Imagination Entertainment (fitting, considering the theme of this description) and distributed by Walt Disney-owned Touchstone Pictures. Even though the picture, which starred Dennis Quaid and Billy Bob Thornton, was a complete box office bomb the horsehair bag is quite the opposite. It is an excellent reproduction of a period piece from the early 1800s.

The Alamo horsehair bag measures approximately 12 inches long, 12 inches wide and 5 inches deep. The bag features a wooden frame that is built solid using nails rather than glue, which provide a sturdy structure in which to store a wealth of items. The wooden frame is surrounded by a tough canvas material that serves as a lining and blocks out dirt, dust and debris. Your belongings are easily covered using the interior closure flaps, which also include two ribbon ties. Added protection comes in the form of the heavy-duty, exterior closure flaps. These flaps are secured by way of two leather straps and metal buckles. If that does not sound secure enough, there is an even larger leather strap that surrounds the entire bag. What is that you say, this bag has your attention but you are interested in hearing more about its portability? Fear not, the bag also includes two leather shoulder straps that are not only adjustable, but comfortable as well. Also worth mentioning, are the dual leather straps found at the bottom of the bag, which appear to be used for securing a bedroll or similar items.

The Alamo horsehair bag has one final noteworthy feature – the horsehair. The exterior surfaces on this bag, excluding the back, are covered in 100 percent genuine horsehair. As if you did not know, horsehair comes from the manes and tails of horses and is highly sought after for use in a number of different products. Horsehair consists of a fibrous protein and is known for its tendency to absorb water very slowly.

I am sure you are sold on the bag already, but let me tell you where they came from. Take a look at the pictures up above and you will see one with a mailing address. That mailing address is where the manufacturer had these bags shipped for use in “The Alamo.” They came to us as extras, still in the original packaging. Interestingly enough, you can find articles online soliciting headshots and résumés from aspiring extras. Where were those items directed? They were asked to be sent to the very same address in the picture above. If you have any interest in buying one of these bags, you should probably act quickly. We do not expect them to stick around and we will not be getting anymore again.

Now let us talk uses. For whatever reason, military reenactments have become quite common. People participate in reenactments for the American Civil War, World War I, World War II and much more. Believe it or not, reenactments based on the Battle of the Alamo are rising in popularity as well. If you have any interest in reenactments, especially involving the Battle of the Alamo, then the Alamo horsehair bag is for you. As noted, it is based on an actual period piece and it is an exceptional reproduction. You may consider purchasing this bag for:

- Much more…

Just because the movie was awful does not mean the bags are – pick one up today for $99.95.

Gerber® Survival Case

Every once in a while a product comes through our warehouse that is so practical and so well-priced that I am just about blown away. The Gerber® emergency survival case is one of those products. It oozes with actual applications. To start out, these survival cases are all brand new items constructed from a variety of tough materials. The rigid skeleton, which measures approximately 12 inches by 11 inches by 3 inches, is encased by a thick polyester material with reinforced edges and high-quality stitching. The back of the case is adorned with two Velcro® strips that allow the case to secure to the carpeting found inside a vehicle or any similar surface. Additionally, there is an ergonomic, rubber carrying handle that makes transportation of the survival case extremely comfortable. Being that this case employs a fold-open design, there are two straps with plastic buckles that provide ensured closure. Speaking of the fold-open design, I think it’s about time we open this case up and take a look inside.

The inside of the Gerber® emergency survival case is just as nice as the outside, if not better. It comes equipped with several pouches, pockets and straps designed to house specific tools and accessories. However, if you’re feeling creative, these storage areas are adaptable to hold plenty of different items. The biggest pouch is designed specifically to hold a folding entrenchment tool/shovel and houses our German tri-fold shovel perfectly, which would be a vital tool in both emergency and non-emergency situations. To the left of this pouch are two 6-inch pockets that will hold flashlights, Leatherman multi-tools, knives, road flares or just about anything else you could dream up. Above these pockets are two Velcro® straps designed to secure whatever you choose to store in the pockets. The other side of the case is equally impressive and features a smaller 4.5-inch pocket, similar to the aforementioned pockets. There is also a set of Velcro® straps with a removable sheath that is designed specifically to hold a small hatchet, which could prove equally handy as the German tri-fold shovel. The real draw here, however, is the zippered mesh pocket, which measures 9.5 inches by 6 inches. This pocket can be used to carry any small, essential accessories such as hardware, batteries, folded maps and much more.

The only thing that could possibly make this survival case better would be the inclusion of all the tools. You cannot beat the price though. Besides, putting together a customized survival case with all your own preferred tools and accessories is much more satisfying. Don’t let 2012 spell doom for you, pick up the Gerber® emergency survival case today for only $9.95.
