Each Winchester PDX1 Defender Combo Pack is a product from the Winchester Repeating Arms Company. Hailing from the company's PDX1 Defender line, which was developed as a top-tier personal defense load marked by its remarkable terminal ballistics, this premium ammunition is ideal for personal defense. Where it sets itself apart from ordinary boxes of ammunition, though, is its mixture of .410-bore shotgun shells and .45 Colt cartridges. Each box contains ten .410-bore shotgun shells and ten .45 Colt cartridges. Each .410-bore shotgun shell measures 2 1/2 inches in length and packs three plated Defender Discs on top of 12 pellets of plated BB shot, while each .45 Colt cartridge contains a 225 gr bonded jacketed hollow point projectile. This non-corrosive ammunition is a perfect complement to your personal defense plan.
The Winchester Repeating Arms Company was founded by Oliver Winchester in 1866 with the design of the Winchester Model 66. Eight years later, operations were expanded to include ammunition production. In the nearly 150 years since, Winchester has successfully sustained its legacy of American tradition, building a name that has become synonymous with qualities that exist in only the finest of businesses. Their commitment to excellence, outstanding pride in their product and innovative spirit has cemented their place at the head of the arms and ammunition industries.
For many, Winchester means fine weaponry. For most, it means ammunition. As a major global supplier of high-quality ammunition, Winchester has long held a reputation for its second-to-none research and development practices as well as their aforementioned innovative spirit, which has yielded some of the world's most popular firearm cartridges. It is also responsible for their inventive lines of ammunition, like their new "PDX1 Defender" line.
As noted, each Winchester PDX1 Defender Combo Pack is a product from Winchester's PDX1 Defender line. Marketed as a top-tier load intended exclusively for personal defense, all Winchester PDX1 ammunition features modern loading and projectile technologies that result in threat-stopping performance. This state-of-the-art ammunition, like all Winchester ammunition, is manufactured in the United States by the Olin Corporation at the Winchester Centerfire Operations Facility in Oxford, Mississippi. Additionally, all ammunition lots are inspected for quality assurance purposes prior to packaging.
As this is a combo pack, there are two different types of ammunition in each Winchester PDX1 Defender Combo Pack – .410-bore shotgun shells and .45 Colt cartridges. Each .410-bore shotgun shell is packed with three plated Defense Disc projectiles. Underneath them, you will find 12 pellets of plated BB shot. The idea behind this personal defense load is that the Defense Disc projectiles provide for heavy penetration and stopping power while the plated BB shot provides for massive shock and compensation for aiming error. Each .45 Colt cartridge begins with the aforementioned jacketed hollow point projectile, each of which is manufactured using a proprietary bonding process and features a notched jacket for optimal on-target expansion. All shotgun shells and cartridges are manufactured to exacting tolerances and boast a ballistic performance on which shooters have come to rely.
That said each Winchester PDX1 Defender Combo Pack contains 10 black-hulled shotgun shells and 10 non-corrosive, nickel-plated cartridges. Each .410-bore shotshell measures 2 1/2 inches in length and contains three Defense Discs and 12 pellets of plated BB shot delivered at up to 750 fps. Each .45 Colt cartridge weighs 225 gr and contains a jacketed hollow point projectile delivered at speeds of up to 850 fps.
