The Winchester Repeating Arms Company was founded by Oliver Winchester in 1866 with the design of the Winchester Model 66. Eight years later, operations were expanded to include ammunition production. In the nearly 150 years since, Winchester has successfully sustained its legacy of American tradition, building a name that has become synonymous with qualities that exist in only the finest of businesses. Their commitment to excellence, outstanding pride in their product and innovative spirit has cemented their place at the head of the arms and ammunition industries.
For many, Winchester means fine weaponry. For most, it means ammunition. As a major global supplier of high-quality ammunition, Winchester has long held a reputation for its second-to-none research and development practices as well as their aforementioned innovative spirit, which has yielded some of the world's most popular firearms cartridges. It is also responsible for their inventive lines of ammunition, like the "USA White Box" line.
As noted, each box of Winchester Q3131 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition is a product from the Winchester "USA White Box" line. Though Winchester USA White Box ammunition is marketed for target shooting and plinking specifically, the product line has existed for years and is marked by its consistently high performance and outstanding value. These qualities can be attributed to the fact that many of the same raw materials that go into the production of Winchester's more costly lines are also used in the production of all Winchester USA White Box ammunition. This state-of-the-art load, like all Winchester ammunition, is manufactured in the United States by the Olin Corporation at the Winchester Centerfire Operations Facility in Oxford, Mississippi. Additionally, all ammunition lots are inspected for quality assurance purposes prior to packaging and shipping.
Each box of Winchester Q3131 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition contains 20 non-corrosive, brass-cased cartridges. Each cartridge is packed with a 55 gr full metal jacket projectile, which provides for positive functioning and increased muzzle velocities. In fact, these cartridges are capable of producing muzzle velocities that have been observed to travel at speeds of up to 3,270 fps. And as previously mentioned, these cartridges are reloadable – perfect for those who prefer to get the most "bang" for their buck.
