What a great scope mount base for AR15 and M16A1/A2 rifles!  This mount features a Weaver style rail that attaches into the hole on your rifles carry handle.  This style of mount is often referred to as an A2 Carry Mount.  It is compatible with all NATO STANAG and Weaver type scope mount and rings.  If you are searching for a great mounting base for your optics, this is an excellent choice!

Why is this Weaver Rail Mount necessary for your AR-15 / M-16 rifle?

This mount is necessary because the standard AR15 and M16A1/A2 rifles do not have a built in Weaver style rail.  Without a Weaver style rail, you will not be able to mount scope rings or any scope with a built in Weaver style mount.  This is the foundation piece that will allow you to put everything else you want onto your rifle!
