Why is this Weaver Rail Mount necessary for your AR-15 / M-16 rifle?
This mount is necessary because the standard AR15 and M16A1/A2 rifles do not have a built in Weaver style rail. Without a Weaver style rail, you will not be able to mount scope rings or any scope with a built in Weaver style mount. This is the foundation piece that will allow you to put everything else you want onto your rifle!

Carry handle scope mount is brand new. Fits in the carry handle very well, only problem is when you put the scope on it, the scope is in a front downward 20 to 30 degree tilt, not good.
I have a Bushmaster, Mod m4a1, cal .223 per sales paperwork, but on the side of the magazine well it says .223-5.56MM, MOD XM15-E2S. My upper does not look like the E2S in Bushmasters booklet that came with the rifle in a hard case, reason is there is no rear site adjustment wheel at the base of the carry handle below the rear peep site. SOOOO, I guess I just found out I've been ripped off. Never the less it is a great rifle and I need to find a scope base mount that will fit this rifle.
If you don't have a flat top upper you need this to mount any kind of optic. Just add a dab of locktight and your ready to rock and roll. The price can't be beat and it will work for most any shooting need.
I got one of these before I even received my A2 upper just because of the price! I have to admit, the nut does come loose, but a little thread lock put a stop to that!
inexpensive addition to your rifle and its sturdy. good buy ,im happy
If you are using a low power optic or a red dot these work great, the mount is vary solid and with low rings you get a decent cheek weld
