Austrian Sniper Sleeping Bag - Austrian Army Sleeping Bag for Snipers
Austrian Sniper Sleeping Bag
The Austrian Sniper Sleeping Bag is an Austrian army sleeping bag designed for snipers. With the two zippered sections that are at arm height a sniper or other rifleman can have their arms free to access their weapon while inside the bag. You'll find no better sleeping bag for hunting or camping that offers the amount of versatility as this Austrian army sleeping bag.
The Austrian Army issues this sleeping bag to snipers, designated marksmen, and soldiers that make up a rifle company.
With the main purpose of this sleeping bag being to keep soldiers warm the ability to access your rifle should also be seen as essential. The design of this sleeping bag allows for warmth, weapons access, and the ability to also move on foot while keeping your body inside the sleeping bag. No other military surplus sleeping bag provides this level of warmth, comfort, and versatility in the field.
We've had previous military sniper sleeping bags from Germany and they have always been great sellers. Customers have told us how useful this style of sleeping bag is on deer hunts from tree stands. Even better why not consider one for any outdoor event where you are sitting, want to stay warm, but need access to your arms.
I received one of these for Christmas from a family member. I must say it is a very pleasant surprise! Lightweight, yet warm and comfortable. Very nice, hi grade. Looks almost new! I hope to go camping soon and use it!
I like the arm slots
YKK big zippers and they all work fine. The size is perfect for me at 5'11" and seems to be thick enough for my needs. The outer shell is in perfect used condition and the inside had some minor tear spots that were easily fixed with needle and thread in about 15 minutes. Haven't had it out in the weather yet but it should be fine. Overall for the price I like it!
Decent bit of gear
Pretty robust bag. Thick zippers prolly won't fail any time soon. Not super lofted, feels very thick so losing heat retention due to compression isn't as much of an issue as say a down sleeping bag. My main complain is it's short. I'm 6'2" and it just doesn't really fit. I can zip myself into it, but it's a squeeze and I'd have to sleep with my knees bent all night. It's heavy too- not terrible, and to be expected for robust military surplus. Great bag for chillin with your arms out, not the best for super ultra hiking or tall folk.
