The British Army Reversible Thermal Trousers are one of the most popular military surplus thermal pants. Why are they so popular? They are absolutely the most comfortable thermal pants you will ever find. Not only are they super comfortable but they work incredibly well at using your body's natural heat to keep your legs and lower body warm.

This is the best $25 I've spent on thermal pants. Light and warm, and very comfortable to boot. I found it just perfect for work in snow conditions, and in cold climate. The material is supple and durable, it's so comfy that I,ve taken to sleeping in it. It has the same impression as wearing a light sleeping bag. Nylon means it is water-resistant, if not water-proof, though I've not tested it in a full rain. Only con is that the medium runs too large, but you can easily wear a belt, pull it up and over the belt and tuck it in. Perfect!
It's summer , so there is no telling
These seem to be of good quality and will work well. Like others, mine came with full length zipper so they can also be half and half pants on top of reversible. One should note .. There is no zipper on the fly, so be mindful around others if you plan on wearing these alone. The size M would equate roughly to a 32/34 waist x32 inseam, expandable waist and cuff areas. Thin nylon material.
Its ultralight and compacts easily. I carry it in my sleeping bag for extra warmth .
Lightweight, compressible, you can feel the warmth as soon as they're on. Wide fit range (I'm 5' 7" 165 lbs with plenty of room to spare). Unlike the picture, the ones I received have full-length Vislon-type zippers (a big plus). Condition as expected: M4S2R (military surplus storage stank removal required) so they'll go to the laundromat before use.
No cold weather yet to really test these out, but they are well made, have good loft and compress enough not to take up a lot of room in a pack. I have a 36" waist and usually have a sidearm attached. The large fits over it all and fits nicely. I can see these going on at night over light wool pants while winter camping or perhaps adding insulation while sleeping in my hammock in the cooler/colder months. They will probably be too warm for active times in all but the coldest weather in my area. Nice piece of gear for an emergency kit too!
Don't want to wait.. Amazing product. Large works well as over pants for anyone in the 35-45 range due to the roomy build and elastic waist,
If you find them skipping down all you have to do is put on a belt of any kind (even paracord will do) and fold the elastic waist band over top of the belt or string.
Mine came brand new and absolutely water proof! Something you don't see in the description. These are insanely comfortable, and could easily increase the rating of any sleeping bag to sub zero temps with a similar accompanying top.
So so comfortable.. Words fall short of how awesome this product truly is. I'm back now for seconds and thirds.
Was skeptical of fit, being 44 x 30, but they fit fine. used while camping and even driving to work in the Jeep with the doors off when it was 40 degrees out. truly reversible, rugged, and with the thigh down zippers, will go over any boot. great pick, KS!
British Army softie reversible thermal trousers.Ripstop outer with warm polyester filling.
Full length zips down sides of legs for easy off and on.Button fastening with elasticated waist band.
Two hip pockets green and sand side. These are super warm under a set of Gore-Tex trousers for duck hunting or under a set of fishing waders.
I am 6'2", 34 inseam and 36 waist and the Large fit perfect. I have researched these for a couple of weeks and this is the only place you can buy these on this side of the pond and at half price of any place else. Brand new! I plan on grabbing a few more pair before they are gone. Super nice, thanks again KS!
