The Coast HP550 Flash Light is a pure beam focusing flash light that is designed to offer maximum performance in low or no light conditions.With an easy to use slide focus control you can change the light beam from an ultra view flood beam to a bullseye spot beam. This feature alone will give you a tactical advantage over similar flashlights that may be as bright as the HP550 but do not have the focusing capability.
One of the most impressive features of the Coast HP550 is the brightness of the high setting along with the runtime. You will find other flash lights that are similarly bright but the run time is generally limited to under an hour at the highest setting. The Coast HP550 is capable of operating at full power for an impressive 6.25 hours giving you peace of mind knowing you will not run out of power when you need it most.

This flashlight feels sturdy and can adjust the focus easily, but doesn't come with batteries, it is pretty big. The lights works as it should and is really bright, it seems to work better when there is more darkness. This light is very useful for working on dark spaces. It seems pretty durable and will buy again when the batteries die.

Brightness is not adjustable. Bright when you want bright, dimmer when you need less light, and can't go lower than dim. Good flashlight though.

It's a bright flashlight, no more no less. You can zoom in and out, and the distance at which the light remains clearly visible is good, but once it's fully zoomed out it's not bright. You have to zoom in if you want it brighter. The brightness setting can't be adjusted, you can't make it a bit brighter or a bit dimmer. Either on or off, that's it. That's good if it gets knocked around a lot, no settings to adjust to break. You can't damage the adjustment of it by accident. It's a great flashlight, but I was just disappointed in the dimming.

Great flashlight, but keep a separate LED work light for up close or detailed inspections, because that will kill the battery's, they don't hold up well under prolonged high use in close quarters. But that is the only drawback for a very good 4wd/driving flashlight.

I am amazed at the performance of this light and battery. The construction is solid and sturdy and seems to have a very well thought out user interface and I am going to have to order a spare battery because this light and the battery life are so great it just out performs all my competition flashlights. It is the best value for what you get for this unit hands down. If the manufacturer had done away with including the batteries and required me to buy those separately, there is no way I would own this unit, that should say something about the level of performance that it produces. AAA's just are not up to the task of long term usage, not even on D cell. I would have to think that this battery should outlive a 10 year lifetime as a general usage. Very impressed! This light will easily work for anyone that requires outdoor and extended light usage.
