Specialized army units often require specialized equipment to support their role in the armed forces. Perhaps the most important specialized unit in any national force is the medical or hospital corps who has the distinct job of treating the medical needs of their fellow soldiers. One good example of specialized equipment is this very unique field desk that was used by medical staff in the Czech Army.
While the Czech Army used this field desk for medical staff, you should consider how useful having one of these desks would be for your own use. Consisting of a tough wooden exterior with two interior drawers, there is also a removable desk that easily attaches and swivels up to give you a work space for preparing papers, or working with small parts. This makes a great gunsmith desk as you can keep tools and small parts inside, and the tough exterior gives you a solid and reliable work bench to perform your gunsmithing from. Like most military surplus items, the possibilities and potential uses for this military field desk are unlimited!

This thing is a beast. Exterior is metal framed wood panels. Can easily support 250 lbs on top. Desk top mounts to either side, support bar a bit stiff. Mine was exactly as pictured here. This thing definitely saw some action. I use it as a coffee table, looks great. Drawers are a bit...stiff/sticky but not enough to make me dislike using it every day.
Fantastic desk. It is perfect for gun smithing or flytying. Worth every penny. And it is a piece of history. Have already recommended it to friends who were very interested.
So I ordered this with no exact purpose in mind. It arrived fast with standard ground shipping. When I opened this up I was surprised at the overall quality. Everything inside the drawers is real wood and the pulls are brass. The desk top stores inside the main box below the drawers and attaches very sturdy by a hinge type design with metal support arm. It took me a minute to figure out how to connect it all but it can attach to either side of the main box to accommodate right or left handed or just general preference. Outside is about the same as most military crates construction wise. The outer markings on mine similar to website photo. Well made and interesting item.
