These are awesome!I bought three pairs of these, dated 1966, 1967, and 1972, and they were in great shape for their age. One pair was missing a button on the cargo pocket, but since I had some replacement buttons, that was an easy fix. On another pair it was evident that an NVA soldier had some fun with a match, because the button at one of the cuffs was half melted, and the cuff tab was a bit singed, but I think that adds to the character. The material is soft, and true to the description, the styles really are different depending on when the pants were made. For example, on two of these, the front slash pockets had button closures, whereas one did not, and two of them had little key rings to hold the cuff buttons in place (I'm guessing this was a workaround for soldiers who didn't know how to sew a button). I had never seen that before. As an added bonus, it was fun figuring out the date and place of manufacture from the clear stamping.
Soft, lightweight, but sturdy material makes for an excellent summer pant

Awesome Cold War Pants Great QualityThese are legit East German surplus pants and you can tell they were built to last. The strichtarn camo pattern is so cool looking, nothing else like it. Material is thick but still breathable enough for summer which suprised me. Shipped out super fast too, had them in like 4 days.
Just as described -- Fast shipping

Bought these as a gift and he wont stop wearing themGot these for my husband for his birthday because he's obsessed with military surplus stuff. He literally wore them the same day they arrived lol. He told me the material is lighter then he expected which he says is actually a good thing for summer. I don't know much about the technical side but he gave them two thumbs up and thats good enough for me.
Definately going to be getting him some more surplus from keepshooting!

Love these pantsThese are amazing. The pattern is so unique compared to standard woodland or digital camo that I get stopped and asked about them constantly. The fabric is comfortable and the moderate weight makes them perfect for spring and fall weather. The cargo pockets are big enough to actually be useful unlike the fake cargo pockets on fashion pants that cant even hold a phone. The ankle cuffs are adjustable which lets me either blouse them over boots for a military look or let them hang straight for a more casual vibe. For the price of getting authentic pants made in a country that literally doesnt exist anymore and looking this cool doing it you really cant ask for more.
Great pants

These are the real deaI have been looking for real East German military pants for my collection. The Strichtarn pattern is unique and looks like rain drops. It is a different style of camo compared to modern ones. The fabric is thick and strong. I am proud to have this piece of Cold War history. If you like old military gear, you should get these.
