The Federal Cartridge Company, headquartered in Anoka, Minnesota, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alliant Techsystems. The company was founded in 1916 and has since become one of the finest names in the ammunition industry. Today, the company manufactures a complete line of rimfire ammunition, centerfire ammunition and shotshells – they even have a production contract with the United States Military. Federal ammunition has been used during multiple Olympic Games in which the U.S. team brought home gold, silver and bronze medals. Pretty high-quality stuff if you ask me.
Like all Federal ammunition, each lot of Federal XM193I 5.56 ammunition is manufactured at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP) in Independence, Missouri, which is an interesting aspect of the ammunition in itself. LCAAP is a government-owned, contractor-operated munitions facility that was originally established in 1941 for the manufacture and testing of small arms ammunition for the U.S. Army. Since 2001, it has been operated by Alliant Techsystems and is the largest manufacturer of small arms ammunition for the U.S. Army.
As noted, each box of Federal XM193I 5.56 ammunition contains 500 non-corrosive, brass-cased cartridges. Each cartridge contains a 55 gr full metal jacket M193 projectile, which provides for increased muzzle velocities. In fact, this particular load is capable of producing muzzle velocities that have been observed to travel at speeds in excess of 3,100 fps. Additionally, each cartridge includes a water-resistant lacquer primer sealant as well as an M41 primer with an operating range of minus 40 to 125 degrees Fahrenheit, all of which provides for enhanced performance and reliability. All cartridges are visually inspected at the plant prior to packaging.

I found it to be very consistent on my AR with a 20" match barrel. It burned cleanly and consistently. I'd buy more, but they're out of stock. Don't hesitate to buy this Israeli made ammo when found at a good price.
