These gloves ROCK. I live in the upper midwest and for a good third of the year these are the gloves to wear when it's between 30 and 50 degrees out. You lose the bulk of your heat out the back of your hand and the wool fibers of this glove help lock that heat in. When it gets below freezing these work excellent as an outer glove, on top of a full-fingered liner glove. The stitching is strong and they've held up for close to half a decade now. The material is a bit itchy, but the warmth of wool is worth it. For this price they're an absolute steal.
Great for handling rifle in climber, not bulky.

I still don't trust gloves, and I've tried many, to grab my rifle and aim when you have only 5-10 seconds to shoot from a climber. Fingerless gloves allow the direct touch on the trigger and better grip on the rifle.
Just what I wanted

These are heavy enough to do well in cold weather down to 40 degrees for sure. We don't much below that very often here in Houston. They have certainly served to keep my hands warm and the exposed fingers from last knuckle on each one make it possible to do work that requires fine use of fingers. I don't know enough about other varieties of the same idea (fingerless gloves), but Ii do know that these have served me exactly as I need.
