Description
The French Army Alpine Snowshoes are the standard issue snow shoes of the French Army Alpine Forces. With the mountains of the French Alps being extremely high with very cold conditions the gear issued to these elite troops needs to be the very best. When it comes to snow shoes, the undisputed leader for snow shoes that would fit with military protocols would be Baldas.
When considering the needs of French Alpine Troops, snow shoes or snow rackets are very high on the list of important gear. Without the ability to move effectively in snow of all levels an Alpine fighting force will not survive. Not just any snow shoes will be acceptable for military use, they need to be sized appropriately and give the wearer the ability to move quickly while wearing them. Equally important is the ability to field just one model of snow shoe and have it fit all boot sizes that are found in the army that is issuing them.
Baldas has accomplished all of these requirements with the Baldas 74. The snow show frame is made from light weight and durable aluminum. Each snow shoe has an adjustable binding to fit most sizes of boots. With the uniquely designed hinged toe, soldiers will be able to take longer strides at a much faster pace. The webbing is very wide to give better stability and each shoe has four integrated crampon points for best grip on ice.
