French Army Polar Fleece Jacket

Just getting around to writing a review for this fleece, but with 2 Maine winters under the belt you know it's been thoroughly winter tested. This has been my go-to winter jacket since I bought it for winter hiking in the mountains of Maine and New Hampshire. It's been keeping me warm on summits when the wind has driven temps into the negative 20's keeping me warm and comfortable. At those temps I do have a Swiss Army wool sweater under the fleece, but on the way up, it's just the fleece up to the alpine zone. For errands around town in the Maine cold, this fleece stands on it's own.

The fleece itself has weathered well too. Repeatedly trekking around for 8 hour stretches with a backpack has not appreciably worn the fabric. The zippers still do their job, and the pilling is VERY minimal. If this ever goes on sale again, I'll pick up another for my wife since she like to use mine when watching the dog do his business on a cold winter morning and then complains when she has to give it back.

Order my first one years ago in XL size and was happy with it. Here in the south the weather is weird so I wanted a jacket that could handle the winter here and this one fit the book. When I saw one in 2XL I had to get it as they are hard to come by in any size. All I can say is very warm down here...hehe.

Waited till back in stock and order just my size 112. Will match my MVP parka as under layer or stand alone fleece. Have a recycled Patagonia fleece and this is noticeably better in the harshest of weather it was design for , tall full zip at neck to keep snug get yours in size while they last top mil quality!!!
