The Guillouard company of Nantes France has been making quality storm lamps for generations. Collectors of oil lamps recognize the name Guillouard as being one of the very best and they are quick to buy them for their collection. One big customer of Guillouard is the French Army, who purchased these storm lamps to be used in remote camps and foreign postings of the French Army.
One of the most important things in an emergency situation is the ability to see in the dark. These storm lamps are a great solution as they do not rely on electricity, batteries, or other modern utilities to function. Simply add lamp oil to the reservoir, light the wick, and you've got a centuries old proven technology for your illumination needs in a storm. With the large handle you can either hang the storm lamp up or carry it with you as you work at resolving your emergency situation. When your not using your storm lamp, it looks great as a vintage antique in your den or other room that you show case this type of antique in.

Heavy Duty and as depicted, you will find paint chipped and surface rust in a few areas, but nothing that compromises the lamp..it is easily fixed up however ( naval jelly on the rust ) and a touch up with OD paint and you are in business. Mine had not been used at all, large oil reservoir and easily operated controls.
