Heavy canvas, solid buckles, all the buttons are there, no holes, no stains, and only the faintest whiff of surplus smell.
The sleeves, they are very short. I’m 5’10” and they come to mid forearm on me. I believe this is to accommodate gauntlets. I’m betting this was the outermost garment worn over many other layers so a gauntlet would fit over a coat sleeve worn under this coat.
The belt is very high, again to accommodate sitting in a saddle. But the leg straps are cool, the sleeves cinch tight, so does the collar.
Those that like this sort of thing will find it to be the sort of thing they like.
