The French Cavalry Duster is a specially designed riding jacket. With traditional full length jackets, you will experience all manners of difficulty when riding either a horse or a motorcycle. The coat looks to be well constructed and very heavy duty. Fits great, the jacket seems to be sized correctly and should last for years to come. Highly recommend the coat for any active or outdoor lifestyle person. Would buy another for a friend if I knew where to get one. Very good quality and nice looking coat.

This is a very good coat. Good quality fabric, nice and warm with a heavy liner. zippered with silky inner layer as well as a liner, good stitching, lots of space for layers. Comfortably water repellent, fits as expected, and comfortable without the usual short sleeve feel. It has one large outside chest pocket with a snap, and one on the inside as well, a great way to avoid theft or accidental ruin.

I’ve seen these on fleabay for 3 or 4 times the price and not in nearly as good of condition! This is almost new, possibly unissued?
Heavy canvas, solid buckles, all the buttons are there, no holes, no stains, and only the faintest whiff of surplus smell.
The sleeves, they are very short. I’m 5’10” and they come to mid forearm on me. I believe this is to accommodate gauntlets. I’m betting this was the outermost garment worn over many other layers so a gauntlet would fit over a coat sleeve worn under this coat.
The belt is very high, again to accommodate sitting in a saddle. But the leg straps are cool, the sleeves cinch tight, so does the collar.
Those that like this sort of thing will find it to be the sort of thing they like.

I am size 38 it is fits fine. Sleeves are bit short. Very retro look and roomy. You don't get anything like this out there. It is heavy linen-like cotton. Never been worn, like new. I rode my bike wearing it. No problem. No sure how this functions in the rain. Will soon find out.
