G3SEAR

Each component of a trigger mechanism is designed to work together flawlessly to complete the firing sequence from the initial trigger pull to the ejection of a spent casing. The major components involved include: the trigger, sear, hammer, firing pin, extractor and ejector. Each of these parts must be in great working order for a firearm to discharge a cartridge – meaning that it’s wise to have backups. Joining our wide range of original Heckler & Koch parts for the G3 rifle is the G3 sear.

Located within the trigger pack adjacent the trigger, the sear is designed to hold the hammer back until enough pressure has been applied to the trigger, at which point the hammer will be released. It is held in place by the trigger/sear pivot pin. In fully automatic G3s, there is also a sear trip lever that serves to trip the sear as the bolt moves back into battery after each discharge, allowing continuous fire.

The low price of $5.95 will get you a replacement sear and ensure a smooth firing sequence for years to come.

The G3 sear can be found in the rifle’s trigger pack and allows for the rifle to complete the firing sequence after the trigger has been pulled by releasing the hammer. It is an original factory part made in Germany by HK.

Spare parts are an important consideration when it comes to firearms. Like any machine, firearms rely on a series of parts to function properly, including sears. If a part breaks or fails, a repair or replacement is necessary.

It is also important to consider availability. At this time, Keepshooting.com has a wealth of authentic, original factory parts from HK for the G3/HK91/PTR91. Not only are they readily available, but also they are cheap. Now is the time to take advantage.

Trigger Pull

Sometimes you will hear avid shooters discussing the trigger pull associated with particular firearms, referring to the weight required to fully depress the trigger. Interestingly enough, the sear has a great effect on the trigger pull of a firearm. When people get “trigger jobs” done by gunsmiths, it often involves work on the sear.
