It was in 1939 that Pete Gerber first established Gerber Legendary Blades, a company known today as one of the finest manufacturers of reliable, high-quality consumer knives and multi-tools. Interestingly enough, the Gerber family got its start in Portland, Oregon with an advertising firm 29 years prior. It was not until Joseph Gerber began mailing homemade knives out to clients that the family realized their true calling and moved into the cutlery industry. Today, the company makes its headquarters in Tigard, Oregon and is at the forefront of their industry. And whether we are talking about the Gerber® survival case or the mysterious Gerber® leather sheath, quality is something you can count on.
The Gerber® leather sheath measures approximately 7.25 inches tall and 4 inches wide and has room to accommodate two different knives. The slots are cut to hold a single 4-inch fixed-blade knife and a single 3.5-inch fixed-blade knife.
The quality is excellent, the price is insane. It's all about whether or not you've got a couple of knives that fit it. As luck would have it, I make knives...so I'll just hunt up a couple of blades that fit and then all will be well. By the way...the larger opening is for a blade no longer than 3 1/2" long and 1" wide. The finger notch one would likely take 3 1/4" by 5/8" blade. The opening will accommodate a handle 1/2" thick by a scant inch wide, at the bolster. Hope that helps.
I just came across this on the website, I actually but one of these at a sports retail store and I paid $8 for one, Now I see for $7 I would have gotten 2, That is a great price, wish I would have waited
