Excellent all round parka with a lovely burly all polyester liner. My 30 year Parka is starting to give up the GPL ghost after 5 years of damp / heavy/ very cold usage and has seen service as a rug in which I rolled around on , then rolled up and left outside in - 15C temperatures to dry. Fits very comfortably, pockets deep and all functional parts solid and well thought out, taped at stress points and generously water repellent'd pockets, not tight glued, some what elastic in fabric areas (but stiched down).
Now in early stages of refurbishment. Examples of later coats in photo look perfect and mine was in this stage, there were only one of two small areas of loose stitches that would need replacement or filling with extra stitching. Inside pockets all tight, water reellanted nicely in non foul air drier. Has been stored and maintained very well over its long life so looks brand new after light washing. Heavy heavy weight, probably as lightweight a layer of outer fabric as can be managed with 100% worsted German wool. Great Parka and looks like I will be using this one well into my old years. Good Value. It was so cold at - 30C I never used this during this winter, lucky I brought an old but perfectly sound down/polypropylene shell as my back up, it kept me from a frost bitt toes when it dropped 40C in a few days last month. As my real emergency out shell its the best I ever used. So light and very very very toasty. I wore the park under my musher suit as well as just by itself with long un tucked in shirt and sweater for layering with. Not many are available but this one is the best, mine has the good size adjustable elastic wrist strap and a solid belt to keep your snoot out of the layers below. As usual with surplus it was as described, clean as they come and as functional as can be with
Just Like the Original. Good Value.

Jacket fit well. Material, insulation & design all new. I am 5' 9", 180 lbs, wears large jackets and medium pants. The Med. fit well. No extra fabric anywhere, except the little 3 inch tag at bottom left front. No differences from a large that my neighbor was trying on. If you're an XL/XXL guy you might consider going to 2XL. Price was $50 cheaper than buying a used military jacket on Ebay. Would buy another one, but need an Alpine model in dark green & I don't see that in inventory. Just my opinion. Jack was rated to zero. Just about 25 F was too cold for me here on Piedmont hills of N.C. where a few times a winter a true zero temp. does occur, usually with high winds & sub-zero wind chills. My insulated coat was perfect to 15 F, and above was lightweight rain jacket. I use the jacket to bike 6 miles each way to & from my shop on rural roads with a steady breeze most of the way. This makes me a cyclist/hiker & in a warm season this jacket is great with long-sleeves for that too.
Thanks, everything is fine.

I ordered this product with high expectations and it met those expectations. This jacket was exactly as described and I’m very pleased with it. The pockets are very useful, but if you plan on taking this to work, or even college it might get too warm for you. It runs large, but you can definitely tell this is authentic!
Great Jacket

Great parka. I am 6’2”, about 210lbs and usually wear an XL. I got the LG in order to use a military base and was able to exchange for the correct size after trying it on. Excellent material and the fur around the hood has that look like a brand new one should. This parka looks like it is worth more than the $40 that I paid for it and is exactly what I wanted. My brother has the large and I’m going to buy the large as well.
Great coat
