Description

Each German Flecktarn field cap is a like-new unissued cap, meaning they are unused and in excellent condition ready to begin their service lives however you see fit.

The German Flecktarn field cap is constructed entirely from a cotton/polyester blend (80 percent/20 percent) and includes reinforced military-grade stitching on the short bill and through the dual-layer sweatband.

One final interested aspect regarding the German Flecktarn field cap is the inclusion of its NATO Stock Number on the interior tag. An NSN is a 13-digit numerical code that identifies all standardized materials of supply that are recognized by NATO countries. The NSN for the German Flecktarn field cap is 8415-12-322-4191, which identifies it as a tarnmuster muetze, or what translates loosely to "camouflage cap." The "8165" identifies it as a piece of special purpose clothing while the "12" signifies that the piece is from Germany. The remaining digits signify its item number.

I was lucky and got 2 hats. It would be nice if they sorted them out and let you choose between 62 and 63. I wear a 60-61 and 62 is really too big for me as it will fly off if I have the window down when driving.

other than that they are in perfect unissued condition, colors are great and unfaded, no weird smell, nothing. and they are like 1/3 the price of a baseball cap made in china, whats not to love?

buy one, or buy 3, you wont regret it.

I wear a 7 1/2 (for my issued patrol cap at least), and this hat was quite simply too large for my cranium. 7 3/4, maybe 7 7/8 will be more adequate for one to don it. The hat was brand new though, and will be a great addition to my collection of German military gear. I recommend this piece to one with a big head.

You'll need to wear a size 7 3/4 (head circumference 24 3/8 inches) for the XL/Size 62cm to fit. I wear a 7 1/2 (60cm) and the XL cap is far too loose. I expected it would shrink in the dryer, given the 80% cotton fabric, but the German quality precluded that. The 'depth' of the cap is shallow, about 2 inches in back, so it needs to fit snugly for it to stay on your head. The cap comes to a slight peak in the front, a little like a Marine Corps utility cover. The quality is as good as, or slightly better than, US issue caps and hats. I'll keep it for when I acquire some tailoring skills, or my head expands.

Mine is unissued, no off storage smells. I was delighted to find the XL size fit my (not normally swelled) head, albeit a little snug. My hat size is 7 5/8.

Almost the same style that was used by the Germans in WWII.
The hat was 100% new . I think the hat runs a little bit big but I'm willing to pay to have it fitted. If you have a small to medium size head don't buy it. Great bang for the buck!

This hat came new with the Made in Germany STURM sticker still on the brim. The hat will fit someone with around a 7 3/4 hat size. Other stores have old wore out hats for way more than this. Thanks, Keep Shooting.
