The dimensions of each canister are correct as we have tested them by putting an authentic German WWII M38 gas mask inside and the fit is perfect. The exterior of each canister has the fluted design to recreate the look of the war time canister. Underneath the lid is the compartment that would have stored the repair and cleaning gear issued with each gas mask. The straps attached to the canister are correct in design, look, and purpose.
