The GLOCK 27 Gen4 is a striker-fired, semi-automatic pistol that is chambered for the .40 S&W cartridge. The GLOCK 27 features a 3.42-inch barrel and an overall length of 6.41 inches. Weighing in at just 19 3/4 ounces unloaded, its light weight combines perfectly with an ergonomic profile that makes carrying this subcompact pistol a non-issue. A trigger pull of approximately 5 1/2 pounds is joined by a trigger travel of just half an inch to provide for an unmatched performance right out of the box. You may also be pleased to hear that the pistol has an effective range of 50 m, which is well over the typical range for self-defense, and also features adjustable sights that consist of a ramped front sight and a notched rear sight – perfect for acquiring targets quickly and easily. As noted, each pistol comes with two nine-round magazines.
Like all other GLOCK pistols, the GLOCK 27 Gen4 features the “safe action” system, which consists of three passive, independently-operating mechanical safeties. What truly makes the pistol special, however, are the redesigned components characteristic of the Gen4 line. The first is the inclusion of a modular backstrap system, which includes three interchangeable backstraps that allow shooters to instantaneously modify their pistols to adapt it to their specific needs. An enlarged reversible magazine catch makes the GLOCK pistol user-friendly for both left- and right-handed shooters. Internally, the original recoil spring has been replaced with a dual recoil spring assembly, which both reduces felt recoil while extending the overall life of the assembly. Finally, the stippling on the frame has been completely overhauled. The new Rough Textured Frame (RTF) surface has been redesigned to offer the shooter enhanced grip traction. This stippling is found on both the grip and each interchangeable backstrap.
