The Hogue 1911 Colt Government Laser Grip is a rugged, high performance, fully integrated and adjustable laser in a proven design from Hogue. This grip set will fit your 1911 Colt Government pistol and will allow you to have a fully adjustable for windage and elevation laser sight integrated in a low profile design. Three levels of brightness and Hogue's famed orthopedic hand-shape with proportioned finger groves allow for a natural grip making this the overall winner in all class of grips.

Comfortable Grips with added bonus of Laser sight.
Review byKayonna Z.
I felt that the rubber grips as well as finger groves would help with holding the pistol in a good firing grip under recoil. Also the slightly thicker grip as well as composition and groves helped with reducing the felt recoil. The grips were quite difficult to put on as one could barely get the grip holes to line up with the screw holes in the gun. This is due to the wrap around nature of the grips. I also liked the laser sight and feel it will help with alignment under dim lighting conditions. The programming switch or master off-on switch under the right logo panel is quite difficult to use. I would rate that part of the grip with just a 1 star rating.

Great buy
Review byJulianne I.
I put this grip on my kimber custom ii 1911 and I could not be happier with the feel and control. The adjustment for the laser is a little to easy to turn I'm concerned about it being accurate after alot of rounds. However not a big deal to calibrate ever few hundred rounds. I am disappointed that the home screen for this says cr123a batteries required. Do not buy these it uses a completely different battery. Over all I would buy again

Old issue seem to be fixed and this is a good product
Review byMarcelle K.
I have bought two of these grips for two different firearms about 6 months apart. The first set was so tight thaat Idid not think I would get it on the gun. After installation of that first st I had to work the rubber with my thumbs to get the laser to shut off as it was so tight it was activating the switch. The second set was so much better that my rating for this went from 2 stars to 5. That second set went right on the gun without any difficulty and works perfectly as I would have expected. Either Houge fixtures the “too tight to install” issue; or there is too much variation in their manufacturing processes. But I would recommend this product.

Review byKeivan Z.
Well I have had great experiences with other Hogue products in the past but this one disappointed me. The price is great but the laser goes out of adjustment too easily, after about 50 rounds its out of adjustment and the on/off switch on the heal stopped working. It probably would work great for a 9mm 1911 with less recoil but it didn't hold up too my 45 !

You'll be a better shot with these Hogues and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, neither
Review byJaun J.
I am SUCH a traditionalist with respect to my .45 -- you know, my 1911. I've had it since it was brand new back in the Seventies and of course never altered anything. I remember back in 1984 seeing Arnold Schwarzenegger stride into the Alamo Gunshop in The Terminator movie and order up a "long slide forty five with laser sighting" and the gunstore owner hands him a 1911 and says something like "You really know your weapons, pal." The laser sight didn't exist back then; they built a jerry-rigged laser-sight-equipped .45 for the movie, with concealed wires going to a battery pack. So here we are a long time later and you can buy a laser sight on the internet for a very reasonable price. I had these Hogues -- these grips; it's really one grip that wraps around, very elegantly -- installed by a competent gunsmith; I don't know if you could do it yourself or not. Yeah, probably, but the way these guys are REAL careful around those four slothead screws that hold the grips on, I don't know. Maybe everybody should put those original slothead screws in a little plastic bag with your original wooden (plastic?) grips and install a set of nice little Torx screws. My guy said No, these will be just fine and re-installed the original screws. This laser pointer is amazing. Now Don't Expect Too Much! Okay? It seems like the red dot doesn't appear right away, so you can't start shooting at it right away. That red dot will appear, no doubt about it,and if you squeeze off a quick round or two before that dot appears on the intended objective and like, stabilizes itself, you'll find that that first shot wasn't all that far off and the rounds that were following that red dot are more accurate than you are used to having yourself be on the range. And don't worry about these Hogues being somehow not as good as the competition that costs about twice as much. They work just fine. One last thing -- pay attention to the way you put the batteries in, like face up or face down. They can snap in there the wrong way; so just pay attention and get it right, maybe even glance at the instructions.

old age is getting the best of me
Review byJulian E.
Grips arrived early, they fit perfectly, the price was right...My only gripe is that I have to grip the hell out of the pistol to get the lazer to come on. Now that I have mentioned it , that is just what I am supposed to do...old age is getting the best of me./ So far so good. The sights were almost in perfect alignment with the lazer out of the box...NICE TOUCH.. I will buy other grips for my guns as they come available...Thanks Mark Barnes

Review byFrances I.
I slapped this on and it feels great shoots great, and is accurate. My eyes are getting bad in my old age, and this helps me become a marksman. The first couple shots were only about a 1/2 to the right of where i was aiming, which was totally except able by my standards, but then i stock the allen wrench in there and twisted it about 45 degree and now she is sighted in perfectly. I ain't scared of no shooting competitions now!!

Hogue good products but lasergrip?
Review byDashonda E.
I personally & several others find the switch fairly difficult to operate. It is on the front upper edge of the grip and is difficult to press. Side by side with the crimson trace laser no contest, CTC wins. however the price point is where I believe lasers should be at. The grip texture & feel is what you expect from Hogue. The quality of the grip looks to be high, The circuitry looks to be done with a high degree of workmanship. Comes with dust covers. I really like that you have a choice and using three laser modes.

1 to 10 I would rate this product a 6 ; due to the issue of wrapping your hand around it and laser not coming on naturally. I have to make A considerable effort for my large size 13 hands. My two Crimson trace laser's are perfect but price is considerably higher! So I gave hogue a try.
I like hogue products and do not know If the pressure switch is bad or just difficult to press on.
I hate for it to change my view of hogue products, but unwilling to make another hogue laser purchase.
