Would not zero.
Review by Kyle C.
I ordered two Hogue 1911 grips. One could not be zeroed. Laser dot hit the slide stop, and would not clear it. I ordered two Hogue laser grips and and crimson Trace laser grip. Two of the three would not function. Just makes me wonder if KeepShooting is buying "seconds" Two broken items out of three is not a good track record.

Buy these
Review by Melenda N.
These grips are well worth the money, don't just buy crimson trace because of the name, don't spend twice as much fit the crimson vs these grips, I have 2 sets of crimson trace, and these are just as good, the activation trigger is in the same place as the CT save money, or but 2 sets for 2 guns

Don't waste your money!!!
Review by Nellie G.
Bought two sets of these...$300 down the drain! The batteries will die within a couple of weeks without being used. I contacted Hogue and they sent replacements...I'm now on my 4th set with the same results. Dead batteries in less than a month even though the guns have been hanging on a pistol rod in the safe. If you buy these, don't say I didn't warn you!

I really like this product.
Review by Jadaya M.
I wanted to enhance the accuracy of my Colt 1911 Gov't model, Mark 4, Series 70. I am getting older and my eyes were having trouble seeing the gun sights against a dark target background. I was hoping to upgrade my 1911 and not buy a new .45. The Hogue grip with laser installed very easily. Instructions were easy to follow. Came with the two necessary batteries. I had to buy new bushings and screws to install the grips. I zeroed the gun sights and laser at home to ten feet. I did have to make adjustments using the provided tool. That process was easy with very good instructions. Today I went to a range to finish the process of aligning my sights and the laser. I didn't need to do any more adjustments. Even at 25 feet the sights and lasers were perfectly aligned. At 30 feet the sights and laser were slightly separated. This product, at 25 feet, really enhanced the accuracy of my 45 year old gun.

Battery life
Review by Australia K.
Replaced my Hogue grip with their laser grip. Fit and feel are great, like the first one. No issues with laser adjustment and accuracy. After sighting in and some practice rounds, put the pistol away, in it’s readily accessible storage spot. Several months later, went to the range. Battery was dead. Thought I had old batteries, so replaced them. A little over a month later, went to check and the batteries were dead. For home defense, this laser is not a solution. As a comparison, my Crimson Trace laser on a different pistol has gone well over a year and is still operating normally.

Battery Hog
Review by Sheba F.
I purchased this grip for a para-ordnance expert carry 1911 .45 and love the feel and shape. I was able to zero in at 10 yds and have groups of about 3-4 inches with an occasional stray. I love the instant on and anyone in the family can be on target for defense instantly without thinking.
My choice for this grip over crimson trace was simply cost. The CT grips are very pricy.
The downside has begun to emerge as TERRIBLE battery life! I've had to replace the batteries twice in only a couple of months with only 1 range day each battery change (50 rds, 100 rds respectively). The laser is not used often as the weapon is self-defense. I haven't figured out the final cost of a cheaper laser grip and replacing batteries monthly or semi-monthly. Not sure if a power switch would help (like CT).
There's my two cents. I hope it helps.

Review by Elrick V.
Installed on a Remington R1 government blued version. Fits well, looks awesome, laser works good and is easy to adjust. Need some finger strength to install grip but overall very good product. It’s unfortunate hogue charges so much though! Although KeepShooting does have the best price on this!

Extreme battery discharge during non-use!
Review by Bradley O.
Grip was, easy to install, comfortable and shot well for me.

However, the battery drains extremely fast during non use, and it makes no sense to take the battery out when the firearm is stored if you are using this for a house gun.

Even if this for a range toy, be prepared to change the battery very frequently.

Not so great!!
Review by Camden B.
I have installed a lot of the standard Hogue grips on my pistols and I have always been satisfied with the comfort and this set is no different as far as comfort goes, but the red dot has now gone thru 2 sets of batteries just sitting in the safe in less than 4 months, this is very disappointing.

excellent customer service
Review by Sem X.
Really like this grips for my Kimber pro carry II - I had an issue with battery life and contacted Hogue - Their customer service was excellent! Fast reply and hassle free replacement made my day. In this day and age of major companies having poor customer service my experience with Hogue was absolutely positive. l have Hogue grips on all my pistols and rifles and will continue to replace the factory grips and stock with Hogue products. Amazing company and products.

Perfect for Blade-Sighted 1911 GIs
Review by Rufus L.
I dunno why, but I really wanted me a nickel-plated sissy pistol -- got the basic Rock Island GI in 45ACP and realized there was no way I was gonna pick up that front sight in any light. So, voila, enter Hogue -- for half the cost of the CT, it was a no-brainer. Super easy to install and zero out, and keeps about the same zero from 5yds to ~30yds (which is max distance at the indoor range) and, after a few hundred rounds, haven't any need to tweak the beam.

Solid buy: A++
