love this. I use it to harvest vegetables in my garden. Fun color. Super sharp for now. Does great when I need to harvest things. Good value for the quality.
Great Inexpensive Knife
Verified Buyer
I have much more expensive knives that don't please me as much as this knife. I love the sharpness of the blade, the smooth opening and closing of the knife (which I can't do with the thumb stud), the fantastic and very attractive blue color of the scales but most of all I love the snap of the knife when the blade is fully extended. The handle is made out of hard plastic and I don't expect it to survive if I dropped it on concrete or a rock but for $20, this is might fine knife for the price point.
Solid no frills knife

I took it as my primary knife for a 4 day trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Used for everything from whittling sticks for cooking to spreading peanut butter, and it did every demanded of it easily. It's not as fancy as some other knives, but it'll do whatever you ask it to.
Reliable knife

Honestly, this is my third one. I buy it because the blade holds an edge pretty well. I use it at work and at home.
Good enough, but not impressed

Lightweight, good ergos and size.. I just wasn't as impressed, when there are many other knives out there at this price point.
Not bad

This is my first K-Bar and I have to say, I am not impressed. I got this knife based on all the hype about it and it being only $20. I wasn't expecting a lot for $20 but, was expecting more from K-Bar. I will have to do some work for this to be a decent EDC. The thumb stud is horrible, way to aggresive on the knurling and is too close to the handle to be of any practical value other than to present the blade for further opening. I will take down the knurling a bit and make a recess in the handle for better access and better purchase. It is hard opening, even after oiling and working it for a while. Will have to take the bade out and probably round and polish the pivot a bit. Afer doing this and the thumb stud work, should be able to one hand open easlily. The pocket clip will need another hole drilled and tapped or it will work lose and slide out of it's pocket eventually. Also will have to bend the tip out more to slide over pocket material more easily and as with my Cold Steel knives, will have to dremel a divit in the handle and polish inside of the clip so it won't chew up your pockets and will slide in and out more easily. I may just fabricate a new clip altogether so the knife can be deep pocket carried. Blade came slightly off center also so I will have to adress that while I have it apart. It wasn't the sharpest out of the box. It was field sharp at best but a few strokes on the 2000 grit whetstone put on a decent edge. We'll see how well it retains it. I like the blade shap and depth, thickness should be fine for EDC use. Kife is very lighweight, as would be expected with the Zytel handles and has good grip with decent checkering. Overall it's not a bad knife for $20. As long as it has good edge retention this blade will see a good bit of use. Seems it will make a good working knife. Don't count on rapid deployment though unless you want to do some work on it. If you want a cheap beater knife that you don't have to worry about breaking or losing, this is just the knife for you. I personally wouldn't buy it again. I like my Cold Steel knives much better. But it's not a bad $20 investment. I was a bit disappointed with fit and finnish as I was expecting better from K-Bar. But it's a $20 knife so I wasn't expecting the quality of an SR1 or Espada to begin with. There are better $20 options out there though
A good, but over rated knife

This is a good knife with good steel. It opens smoothly but not effortlessly, it takes a bit of force to open one handed. The handle is a bit flexy (is that a word?) for the size of blade, but even so, it's not a deal killer. I like the blue color, I'm forever dropping knives in the tall weeds/brush. It's easy to find with such a non-natural color. (So prefer the black, though.) This knife is in a ridiculously competitive price range and is a worthy product. For the same money, the Firebird Knives from Ganzo, for example, present as a higher-end knife. I know, you could argue (splitting hairs in my opinion) that the AUS-8 is better than 440C, but both steels have their advantages and 440C is a higher carbon content. No regrets, but there are better choices for the money.
Quality Knife For Cheap.

It works very well. It seems susceptible to rust in salty environments. You will have to learn how to flick it open fast. If you add some basic only it loosens up a bit so you can open it faster. Overall it is a great knife for the price.
The ticket for inexpensive EDC knife
Verified Buyer
Extremely happy with this knife. I’ve been on the lookout for a solid, yet inexpensive EDC knife and this thing is the ticket. Had an Ontario Rat II that I was using, but never really liked it. Enter the Dozier. This thing has an excellent blade design for outdoors tasks and cuts easy. Great all purpose design that works well in the field and for everyday tasks. The handle is ergonomic and provides plenty of purchase to the user. The action is smooth, but not loose. It came from the factory with a decent edge, but a little bit of honing provided an edge that was razor sharp. I liked this knife so much that I bought two more as backups and one for my spouse. A bargain at $20.
Light price, great knife
