Ka-Bar Hobo Utensil Set

<p>I have the original Kabar Hobo Knife. Smaller, better metal, pieces fit together precisely.<br /><br />In all I rate this a C3 (Cheap Chinese Crap) and at an inflated price.</p>

<p>Was a super Christmas present for our family members who love nature adventures. Nice survival tool to keep in the car for any emergency.</p>

<p>I love this product. I just bought it for my nephew who admired the one my husband gave me.</p>

<p>I love my KA-BAR Hobo sets. I've had two sets for many years. After nearly daily use at lunch in the office, the spring on one of the spoons broke, so I returned the set to KA-BAR and within a week I received a new set. They really do honor their lifetime warranty. It's a nicer feel than eating off plastic utensils, and the knife is much better too. I carry one in the console of the car for spontaneous picnics and fast-food takeaway. Separating the pieces on the new set is difficult, but I'm sure it become easier with usage. I can't recommend this kit enough.</p>

<p>Easy to clean. I use it every day at work since my employer got rid of all plastic ware,.it’s a KABAR and that means quality snd function .</p>

<p>Pros: All stainless, with brass lugs for attachment. The spoon is smallish, but is angled well. Fork is small, but effective. Knife is good, sharp from factory, locks open securely. Pouch well sized, fits easily but without wiggle room.<br />Cons: The attachment system is not as positive as I'd like. Effective yes, but could easily work itself apart if held loose in a large pocket/bag with other items. The edges of the handle on the knife, when separated, are uncomfortably sharp. When assembled it would be fine, were it not for the weakish attachment. Could cut soft skin if used with force, especially if used with wet hands numbed from cold.</p>

<p>Tried it for a while but it just doesn't compare to others.<br />When I received it, it smelled bad. Very metallic and greasy. Even after multiple cleaning sessions, the smell would persist.<br />The fork is awful. Too thick, and completely flat, which makes it odd compared to a regular fork.<br />The knife was nice and came sharp, but the locking mechanism, while a good idea, took a bit of pressure to press on which is dangerous for a knife.<br />The only good part was the spoon. However, compared to similar products, it was tiny. Barely holds anything.</p>

<p>Well built and very useful for work lunch! Never worry about bringing silverware again. The knife locks in place for saftey and the spoon and fork are sturdy enough that they stay in place<br />You can take it apart easily to eat with each peice individually.</p>

<p>Bought this for work, camping. Well built, very useful and pouch is great. I'd highly recommend. Multiple uses.</p>

<p>I hate that this was made in China but I knew that before I purchased it. I also knew that it was going to be small compared to other hobo knives and it is. So there were no surprises. but for the money I think it is an excellent value.</p>

<p>This Kabar is perfect for a full knife, fork, and spoon set that is well built, stainless steel and folds up in a perfect size package. I’ve given these to kids going to college and to my daughters for my grandkids to always have something to eat with.<br />Perfect to always have in your purse or car.</p>

<p>Very convenient. I keep it in my toolbox for when I forget to bring utensils to the job. I've had it for over a year now and Haven had any rust.<br /><br />Size of the multi tool is good. Spoon is good, maybe a little small but fine. Blade is sharp but I find myself wishing it hard serrations. Fork is the only one I don't like. It is a little too narrow and I believe it would be better if it had a curve to it but, then it wouldn't fit into the tool...</p>

<p>My only complaint is that this was a gift for a friend and the warranty inside came with what appears to be oil stains on it. Otherwise, this is really cool and I plan to buy more!</p>

<p>This is the best hobo knife available at this price.<br />I suppose if you're a rich hobo and can afford the CASE hobo knives at over $100 they might be better, but this Ka-bar hobo does the job. Sits on my lunch bag strap ready whenever I need it. Easy to take apart and put back together. Stainless steel easily cleaned under some running water after use. Very satisfied.</p>

<p>I gave this to my son. It takes the place of utensils that arent always available.</p>

<p>Well built. I’d like it to be a bit bigger, and have a more normal shaped fork. I also wish the fork would lock open like the knife, it collapses a lot while eating lunch. But otherwise well made.</p>

<p>Awesome product. I use it for my lunches. Comes apart super easy and knife cuts well. The fork is a little small but I don't have an issue. The weight might bother some, but again I don't care. Good product for what it is</p>

<p>I have been using this utensil for about 3 months. I use it 2 meals a day. Im in Afghanistan and normally they give us plastic forks and knives. They are flimsy and break.<br />The knife is really sharp. I have no problem cutting steaks. I sometimes cut right through the foam plate they give us. For the most part it feels well constructed. Their are only a couple small problems. The spoon doesn't lock open like the fork or knife do. On mine the hinge is sloppy. So I have to kind of hold the spoon open with my thumb. The spoon is kinda small. It does beat the hell out of plastic.</p>

<p>This is the perfect tool to have. Each utensil separates from the others creating a 3 piece setting. All stainless. Easy to clean. Great little tool for your lunch box or car. The majority of one stars come from people who obviously don't know how to close a pocket knife. There is a little tab on it to unlock the blade and close it! Like 90% of most knives sold. Smh. The blade is sharp. Very sharp. But as any boy scout will tell you, a dull knife is a dangerous knife.</p>

<p>Long ago I had a utensil knife that I lost and couldn’t find a suitable replacement. Then I found this little workhorse. First off, I love the hardy belt pouch. Well built.<br />I recently ate some dehydrated Chili Mac with the spoon right out of the bag. It wasn’t so short that my hand was covered in sauce from the bag. It was just right. The spoon has a polished finish that doesn’t allow food to stick. Brilliant. The knife is a typical KaBar, if you love on it, it will cut your steak right out of the box and forever more. The fork seems small, but what I learned is the average fork is really quite large, this one does quite well.<br /><br />Cleanup is easy. The entire frame soaps and rinses off easily with a bit of thumb work. Let it sit out in the air to dry after you dab it off with your shirt. Don’t let it get puddles that stick around for days or it’ll rebel.<br /><br />All in all, this is a good blade with good utensils and is a solid purchase. Love it!</p>
