Details
The Makarov extractor spring, located within the slide of the Makarov adjacent the extractor and the extractor plunger, is an unissued surplus extractor spring.
The extractor is one of the most critical components of any firearm. Designed to extract spent cartridges cases from the chamber of the firearm, the extractor is essential to the overall function and reliability of the firearm. As such, the extractor spring is almost equally important. In the Makarov pistol, the Makarov extractor spring is used to place tension on the extractor plunger, which transfers the kinetic energy from the spring to the extractor and effectively holds it in place.
The Makarov extractor spring, like all of our spare and replacement parts for the Makarov, are unused parts that were obtained from a spare parts inventory in Germany. All spare and replacement parts for the Makarov sold by Keepshooting.com are interchangeable in all Makarov pistols. These parts are not compatible with the Polish P-64 or the Hungarian PA-63.
Spare and replacement parts are an important consideration when it comes to firearms. Like any machine, firearms rely on a series of parts to function properly, especially all components that impact the firing sequence. In general, if a part breaks or fails, a repair or replacement becomes immediately necessary – not only to keep a firearm functioning properly but also to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you.
It is also important to consider availability when discussing spare and replacement parts. At this time, Keepshooting.com is seeking to provide our customers with a wide selection of spare and replacement parts for the Makarov. Several brand new parts are now readily available on our website at an affordable price. If you have any need or desire for spare or replacement parts, now would be a good time to take advantage of this offering.
The repeated compression and decompression of any spring, including the Makarov extractor spring, will weaken said spring and eventually lead to breakage. As such, it is always important to keep spare springs on hand. Consider picking up a spare Makarov extractor spring or two today.
