Description
The Makarov sear spring, located within the slide of the Makarov adjacent the sear and the slide stop, is an unissued surplus sear spring.
As the sear is a very important component of the Makarov, responsible for holding the hammer back until enough pressure is applied to the trigger, it only makes sense that the sear spring is almost equally important. The purpose of the Makarov sear spring is to hold the sear under spring tension, forcing it into the hammer notches that keep the hammer held back until an appropriate amount of pressure has been applied to the trigger. And just as several other components of the Makarov serve multiple purposes, so too does the sear spring, which also serves as a spring for the slide stop.
The Makarov sear spring, like all of our spare and replacement parts for the Makarov, are unused parts that were obtained from a spare parts inventory in Germany. All spare and replacement parts for the Makarov sold by Keepshooting.com are interchangeable in all Makarov pistols. These parts are not compatible with the Polish P-64 or the Hungarian PA-63.
Spare and replacement parts are an important consideration when it comes to firearms. Like any machine, firearms rely on a series of parts to function properly, especially all components that impact the firing sequence. In general, if a part breaks or fails, a repair or replacement becomes immediately necessary – not only to keep a firearm functioning properly but also to ensure the safety of yourself and those around you.
It is also important to consider availability when discussing spare and replacement parts. At this time, Keepshooting.com is seeking to provide our customers with a wide selection of spare and replacement parts for the Makarov. Several brand new parts are now readily available on our website at an affordable price. If you have any need or desire for spare or replacement parts, now would be a good time to take advantage of this offering.
The repeated compression and decompression of any spring, including the Makarov sear spring, will weaken said spring and eventually lead to breakage. The sear spring is one of the springs that are subjected to the most movement. The more rounds put through your Makarov, the greater the chance your sear spring will break. As such, it is always important to keep spare springs on hand. Consider picking up a spare Makarov sear spring today.
