Knife, strong like... Uhhhhhhh .... Iron Throat !!

This a heavy piece. Strong feel, the cross hilt, handle. Knife feels solid, even the little rivets and metal pieces in sheath make this piece heavy. Its more than a tool for throwing knives (a skill I practice), or camp chopping. I think of a bowie style knife that could serve as self defense, camp chopping, wood gathering, and yes even small hunting if the situation arises (I hunt but mainly meat). Its not a machete. My favorite knife in the closet is a Cold Steel, Ka-Bar knife from there old CPM blade. I would love if they put a bigger size bladed blade like that in a large sp-2 sheath with double clip. My fear is that this baby will stay in the garage, because its TO BIG for hiking. Maybe just an occasional "wear and carry" as the piece is so nice. Great craftsmanship, worth every penny and more. Its heavy. So handle accordingly. Nice Job Oklahoma Joe Custom Sheath company !

Knife was sharp out of the box and came packaged well. The sheath has plenty of padding and is comfortable to wear for an extended period of time.

The first impressions of this thing were nothing short of awe-inspiring. The knife has the perfect weight and size to handle the job. Its thickness makes me a believer that this will last me for a long time to come. The sheath looks great and works well. This is an extremely well built and very useful knife that will definitely be added to my backpack. As for my first impressions on the knife's sharpness, let's just say it arrived very sharp. I'm sure it will stay that way too. This knife will easily cut through paper, wood and bone. I think that for the first week I had it, I used it to clean out my basement with little to no problem at all. This is a fantastic tool that is an absolute must for any camper or survivalist.

Excellent out standing value in a working Bowie style Knife ! Out standing workmanship. Came sharp as a razor ! A well designed no frills rugged Bowie . A lot of us grew up learning how to do basic first aid out in the woods with these as our emergency Knife’s when all we had was no cell no evac . Nothing fancy just an excellent field workman / survival utility/ fighting tool / self protection ! A few hundredths on a perfect bevel ,a short an hour working up an edge with medium weight stone like Whet sta on an eggshell / medium coarser stone on lighter pressures to take an inch to an inch and a half. Very pleased with knife . Don’t plan on reenlisting in US ARMY , Marine Corps etc. as a dumb SOLDIER / NAVY / MARINES ,AF etc. Dumb uniforms . You pay for Dumb Insignia ! ( US ARMY RECRUIT / RESERVE CALL TO ARMS BILL / WOMAN’S CALL TO ARMS RECRUITMENTS ( Women you are only recruit right to vote plus after two years ( at all ) when this useless, extremely dangerous bill , program to call dumb boys to military useless service over / around women , dumb poor to pay and still useless /waste money military program is out the woods, Then dumb military can use women’s REAL ESTATE money for cheap real estate deals ( US DEPT OF DEFENSE . Women just join you don’t have enough smart women ) dumb “WOMEN” , are called out for dumb training , dumb / USELESS duties and endure useless tests , Used by men in super all powered positions that never come close to all women who would make super smart husbands. “In summary the real deal . OKC are extremely experienced design and machine men , makers , finishers that come from excellent design houses , original designers and or the guys who got stuff out of US ARMY INCUBATORS / FABRICATIONS , AND IN SOME CASES HAD INDIVIDUAL TALENT THAT
Well Made. Heavy Duty, Rugged. Excellent Steel. Great Sharp Blade Out Of The Box

It was just my size and fit. A 7 inch fixed blade, straight edged knife, at a price of less than $25, that could withstand a heavy beating. It's 1095 carbon steel with no hardening treatments and would therefore dull with some use, especially sharpening it. However, Ontario knives usually come sharp out of the box and that would not likely happen with a lot of knives. 1095 is an excellent choice of steel for a straight edged survival/field knife. In my opinion it has more spring in it and the balance of a blade when sharpened to an effective blade sharpener makes it a great tool for general cutting and batoning and some wood working as well. I'm using it as my main survival/camping knife and I couldn't be happier. Ontario knives also seem to be built well. This would be an excellent choice of knife for a backpacker, bug out bag, prepper, survival kit, camping, or general cutting tool, especially when matched with some other high performance steel like Bohemia's CRKT steel, which is available in the right sizes and the two knives are really great together. I would definitely buy this again. I might buy another one for backup or I might get one of Ontario's less expensive hunting knives, the On The Track or Frontier for my prepper bag, camping knife and bug out bag. This is not my last Ontario knife. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a rugged and well made knife for an economical price and for a heavy-duty, hard cutting use, especially camping, out in the woods, prepping, and as part of a bug out bag. It comes dull but the sharpness is restored easily with the use of a diamond file on the edge, which does no harm at all to the blade and restores a really good cutting ability. After you've done that, just follow the directions on your file and sharpen with the grain of the steel and keep doing it until you have a really

I've been carrying this knife on my belt every day since it arrived. It's not as sharp as I would like but I can fix that easily enough. The sheath is well made and holds the knife securely in place without any trouble.
