ProMag Industries is an American-owned and operated firearms accessories manufacturer and distributor. Based in California, ProMag Industries is lauded for their high-quality magazines in addition to the numerous accessories they produce. Generally speaking, it is beneficial to seek out factory magazines for your firearms. Original factory magazines are manufactured by the same company, to the exact same specifications and tolerances as those that ship with the firearms for which they are designed. They are also made from the same materials, which ensures both fit and function in your firearm. However, when the aftermarket manufacturer is ProMag, you have nothing to worry about.

The AK-47 was designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov and his often uncredited team during the mid-1940s for a round of military trials that were instated to field an assault rifle chambered for the new M1943 cartridge, better known as the 7.62x39mm. Its designation – AK-47 – stands for Avtomat Kalashnikova 1947, or “the Automatic by Kalashnikov.” But you probably already knew that. If so, you are probably also aware of the uncanny reliability and ruggedness that is characteristic of the AK-47 platform, making it a blast to shoot. Now, with the ProMag AK-47 73-round drum, firing the AK-47 is ever better.

As noted, the ProMag AK-47 72-round drum is an aftermarket feeding device produced by ProMag Industries for the AK-47 rifle. This drum is designed to hold and feed 72 rounds of 7.62x39mm ammunition to any AK-47 rifle. Boasting a high-impact, Dupont® Zytel ™-based polymer with an over molded steel feed lip insert for added strength, the ProMag AK-47 72-round drum is marked by its abilities to withstand harsh conditions and abuse in the field, putting it miles ahead of the aftermarket competition. Moreover, an internal tensioner allows users to store the drum loaded for extended periods while ensuring maximum reliability, while a hinged back design allows easy access for loading, cleaning, and inspection. All in all, this drum benefits from the performance and reliability you would expect from any factory product and will fit and function in any AK-47 shotgun.

It is also pertinent to mention that all ProMag products are backed by a lifetime warranty that protects against manufacturer's defects. For details, please visit the official website of ProMag Industries.

Works but Just OK
Tried one of these for my Ak's and was not real happy with it as arrived
I have several AK's and this drum would not fit in most of them out of the box
With a little work and a few mods it can be made to fit in all your AK's but for the price not what i was expecting
Will work OK with a little work,
OK for range fun but wouldn't want it in a emergency
Personally I would rather spend the extra $$ to buy a original Mil-Surp drum that will work in any of my AK's and feed without issues rather than save a few $$ for this drum that only works OK

not so good
For the price, you would expect a working or near working drum. This drum is not the best at performing. It takes a lot of work to convert this from a piece of polymer to a working drum, and even then it will not work with all rifles. If you have spare time in your hands and like to tinker, buy it! It still won't be reliable or anything more than a range toy.
