The cartridges found in each box of Remington Golden Saber .40 S&W ammunition begin with a hollow point projectile as its foundation. What Remington calls their high performance jacketed projectile builds upon the hollow point design with a spiral nose-cut feature that permits mushrooming at lower velocities without sacrificing penetration or terminal performance. This unique projectile is paired with a nickel-plated case that provides for reliable feeding, functioning and extraction. The end result is match-grade accuracy, deep penetration, maximum expansion and near 100 percent weight retention.

As noted, each box of Remington Golden Saber .40 S&W ammunition contains 25 non-corrosive, nickel-plated cartridges. Each cartridge is loaded with the aforementioned 180 gr high performance jacketed projectile, which provides for both superior terminal ballistics and increased muzzle velocities. In fact, this particular load is capable of producing muzzle velocities that have been observed to travel at speed of up to 1,015 fps.
