Details

Remington Arms Company, LLC is an arms manufacturer that is headquartered in Madison, North Carolina and specializes in handguns, rifles and shotguns for the civilian market as well as the military and law enforcement sectors. The company is also well known for its ammunition. Founded in 1816 in Ilion, New York by Eliphalet Remington under the name of E. Remington and Sons, the company went on to become the oldest continuously operating arms manufacturer in the United States. It is also the only American arms manufacturer that produces both firearms and ammunition domestically. But the accolades do not end there. Remington is also the largest American producer of rifles and shotguns. With nearly 200 years of experience under their belts, Remington is a name that you can trust.

Each box of Remington R223R1 .223 Remington ammunition is a product from the company's stalwart "Remington Cartridges" line. Like most ammunition from Remington, the Remington Cartridges line has come to be known for its uncanny accuracy and overall outstanding performance. Moreover, the line is lauded for its legendary reliability. Developed decades ago by the company's industry-leading research and development team, each cartridge is manufactured to exacting tolerances, placing them in a class all their own. You will also be pleased to hear that all Remington ammunition is manufactured in the United States at the main manufacturing facility in Lonoke, Arkansas using only premium raw components to provide for uncompromised performance at a great value. Remington also has a manufacturing plant in Athens, Georgia that is responsible for the production of clay targets.

The cartridges found in every box of Remington R223R1 .223 Remington ammunition begin with a pointed soft point projectile. The Spitzer profile of the pointed soft point projectile is designed for improved velocities and flatter trajectories than its soft point counterpart. It is also noted for reliable expansion up to twice its original diameter. Additionally, the unique design of these cartridges allows them to retain up to 95 percent of their original weight.

As noted, each box of Remington R223R1 .223 Remington ammunition contains 20 non-corrosive, brass-cased cartridges. Each cartridge is loaded with a 55 gr pointed soft point projectile, which provides for both superior terminal ballistics and increased muzzle velocities. In fact, this particular load is capable of producing muzzle velocities that have been observed to travel at speed of up to 3,240 fps.

I took some of this coyote hunting with success. Shot placement is everything with game any larger though. I would not hunt deer of any kind with it at more than 200yds or so.

Good choice for general hunting or plinking, varmints, feral hogs and etc. I've even used this load for White Tail Deer with very good success. Good value for the price.
