Rothco has been producing military themed clothing and gear since 1953. These Rothco BDU Combat Shorts continue this trend by bringing the traditional BDU shorts into the current generation. With a focus on preserving the best aspects of the original while incorporating features that have become the new standard in the civilian world, Rothco has produced an excellent pair of shorts with these BDU style combat shorts.
Lets look at the features these shorts have, starting with the way they look. We have selected these shorts for their lack of a camouflage pattern, yet military style. You can wear these shorts with any shirt in any setting and look right at home. There are times when you want camo and times that you'd rather not, and these shorts are a first rate choice for those times you do not want to wear camouflage. The pockets, of which there are a total of six, are placed perfectly for maximum carry capacity and comfort with there being four on the front and two on the back.
Like all shorts by Rothco, these BDU Combat Shorts use the adjustable waist tabs to help size the shorts to your individual comfort level. This allows you to be able to continue to wear these shorts should you add on a few pounds or loose a few. You can also use them to tighten up the waist band, to give a more secure fit that can then be increased by also wearing a belt.
Button Fly: the button holes are too small. One button fell off the first week of use. Careless manufacturing.
Button closure on pockets: button holes too tight, you won't want to use the button closure.
Front pockets: TOO SMALL! Crazy small! The designer clearly never wore the product. These are silly shorts.
Material: not bad; stain resistant, washes well
Overall: I wanted to throw these in the trash by the second day. But, I was on a trip, only had two pairs of shorts with me so I did use these occasionally. But there are better shorts out there.
