Ruger BX-1 10/22 Magazine

I purchased four mags and they all function.

I have several of these for my 10/22's and these are the best mags for the 10/22 made
I also use the BX25 if I need or want a high cap mag but these are the best mags made for the Ruger 10/22

When John Norell first started selling his Select Fire Trigger Pack's (NFA item requires a form 4), he recommended only ONLY These mags when using the full auto setting on his trigger packs! These were the only mags at that time that would feed the 10/22 in F/A/ mode without the Feed Lips failing! Not to mention being the only mag that could feed it's cyclic rate fast enough to keep up with feeding in full auto!
Kinda hard to imagine spending over $5000.00 plus another $200 for the Tax Stamp to convert your gun to full auto only to find out it would only feed reliably with a 10rnd mag!
But since most of us didn't jump on those trigger packs back when he was selling them for $5k, that's not a problem for us.
I have 3 10/22's and a Ruger 96 in 22 Mag (Same design just larger) with 3 10/22's to feed I have acquired a pretty good supply of these over the years since I bought my first 10/22, I even still have and use the mags that came with that gun when I bought it new some 18 years ago.
The only problem I have ever had with these is one I created.
While shooting on a newly built range our mags got dirtier than usual (lot of dirt till the grass grew that first year!).
ANYWAY Being a Mechanic I decided it was time for a complete break down, Cleaning and lubing of All my mags.
OH Boy, is really nothing to it if you pay attention but we all have those off days! Oh Well it happens.
Anyway when I removed the screw and popped the end cap off I failed to pay attention to where the spring tail was located (It can be clocked to 8 positions) I also failed to count how many complete wraps the rotary follower had on the to tension the spring so it would have enough pressure to chamber the last round in the mag and still be able to wind around far enough to hold all ten rounds.
Needless to say our next trip to the range was frustrating and the Wife was Not Happy to say the least.
I finally went out and bought 1 more new mag and took it apart while paying attention to where the spring tale was clocked and how much preload was on the spring from the factory.
Went back through all my mags again re-clocking the spring tails all to the same orientation and set the pre-load on all them back to factory specks and haven't had another problem since then.
Normally when I clean them I use compressed air to blow them clean and Graphite to lubricate them and they serve me fine.
Overall a really well designed mag. Its only downside is if for some reason you are shooting in a extremely dust/dirty area (like freshly built range, Berms and all!) then you will likely never have any reason to disassemble your mags and wont have any problem out of them I like them well enough I still buy another one from time to time.
If you own a Ruger 10/22, 77/22, 0r 96/22 or the .17 caliber brother to the 22 then these are the mags you need to stock up on.
They Fit, Feed, and Function better than any other mag out there that I have tried to date.
I just got a BX25 mag last week so the jury is out on that one for now.
I just wish KS would have let me buy 2 of them instead of only 1. Now I still gotta find one more but I understand why they did that
ANYWAY, If you own a gun that uses this mag stock up on em and always keep em handy They Fit, Feed, and function better than any aftermarket mag out there.

Never a ftf issue. Same mag that others sell for more.

Same mag that came with my rifle. I can order these for less money from KeepShooting than I can at my local gun shops or big box stores. And that's including shipping!!! These and the new BX-25 are the only two magazines I use anymore. Never experienced a problem with these mags, never.

The 10/22 mags from Ruger are great. The mag just works. Never had a FTF, unlike is reported with many aftermarket mags. The price here on Keepshooting is great, most local dealers are selling for $10 more, this is where to get the most reliable mag for your 10/22

Great fits like the ones i got with my 10/22 load them and keep shooting.
