The Ruger P85 was the first of Ruger's wildly successful P-Series of semi-automatic pistols. Having seen the demand for a high-capacity semi-automatic pistol from both law enforcement and consumers, Ruger answered the demand with what become the P85. Never settling for good enough, development of the P85 continued with the release of the P89.
With production of the P85/P89 running from 1987 till 2007, there are hundreds of thousands of these excellent pistols in circulation today. New and experienced shooters have found the P85/P89 to be easy to shoot, reliable, and an inexpensive option for those on a budget. Recognizing the demand for high quality magazines for these classic pistols, Meggar has produced a line of high-capacity magazines for those who are lucky enough to own a P85/P89.
