SWAT-T Tourniquet

The SWAT-Tourniquet is a unique and multipurpose dressing. Its name provides a description for usage Stretch, Wrap, and Tuck, but also the communities for whom it was developed - military and civilian Special Weapons and Tactics teams. These teams operate in an environment that has a high incidence of penetrating trauma, and most (two-thirds) of preventable deaths in the operational environment are from extremity bleeding.

Description

The SWAT-Tourniquet allows a more rapid means to control extremity bleeding and allows application higher into the groin and axilla than other tourniquets. Its ease of application is one of its greatest benefits; individuals can effectively apply it in seconds with little to no prior training. At a third of the cost and weight of other combat used tourniquets, this tourniquet should find its way forward with every tactical operator.

The SWAT-T tourniquet is available in either orange or black for easy identification and application. Instructions for use are printed on the tourniquet along with the trademark pressure application measure showing just how much pressure to apply to reach occlusion. Stretch the band until the diamond appears and there will be enough pressure to stop or slow severe bleeding.

The SWAT-T was developed by a former Operator/Medic with 14 years experience in Operational Medicine -former USAF Pararescue Journeyman (Para-Jumper or PJ)), Contractor DoJ/FBI SWAT Operations, National Registry Paramedic, and Emergency Medicine Physician. Minimum recommended operating temp. -65 Degree F (-53 Degree C) Maximum recommended operating temp. 180 Degree F (82 Degree C) Preferred long-term storage conditions cool and dry environment.

This has been my "go to" tourniquet for years. This company came through during pandemic and shipped them right out the door. Thanks for everything!

Haven't needed it yet but that's why we buy insurance. I keep it in my kit bag for hiking and hunting and hope I never need it but good to have just in case. Would highly recommend it for anyone to keep on them at all times in the outdoors. Just one of those uncomfortable truths that sometimes comes with fun outdoor activities. Thanks CSA for this invaluable item

Easy use, fits great on boot. Multiple scenarios. GPS-tracked. Definitely something I carry on the backside of my right calf. (An instruction I wish the description had specified.)

Bought for EMS license class. Going to make sure I have these, this design and type, in my 4 kit. I already had 3M’s for years. They just suck in dirt and other crap.

I am a firefighter and these have saved a few of ours. I'm also a former combat medic and these should be on every FF's belt. I carry two, in case I get in the back country on my days off.

Emergency Kit Must Have!
Review by Keepshooting Customer
We received these TourniQ as a gift for our 2 boys (9&11). Our son (9) is active in the Cub Scouts and loves to camp and go hiking. I have a Finger Tabs TourniQ as part of my EMT Emergency First Aid Kit and am familiar with how to use them, but my son's never had any training. I thought it would be a good idea to teach them to be responsible for helping their fellow scouts if needed. I taught my boys the two steps needed to apply a TourniQ (they had no trouble at all learning) and now we take them camping with the rest of our first aid kit and they have the comfort of knowing they can assist in an emergency. I really appreciate this quality, compact tourniquet for emergency use! There are others, but the Swat-T is a winner! :)

Quality and Versatility of product
Review by Keepshooting Customer
The SWAT T tourniquet is well worth the price for the overall quality and use cases of the product. There are plenty of tourniquets out there but the features of the SWAT T set it apart. For the consumer looking for an inexpensive, yet very functional, device this product is for you. For first responders who are often dealing with budgets and multiple people to deploy, this is an ideal product. It can be cut down to different lengths and is lightweight, meaning less space in your equipment bag and the individual applying the device does not need any specific skills to be able to quickly apply the tourniquet correctly. I have yet to use it, but my background training and a recent exercise using the SWAT T gives me confidence that I can effectively save a life if the need arises. In the past when applying my tourniquet training devices (I prefer these because it forces the trainee to really practice correctly), the devices would start to slip down after a few seconds. Not so with the Swat T, even when you get a little frantic with how tight you are wrapping, it still stays in place. Overall, the durability and quality of the device is exceptional. As an EMT, you can't go wrong with this tourniquet and the peace of mind that it will get the job done in any situation. My next recommendation would be a more high end device such as a TQ2 or SOF-T if money was not an issue. But this device will do the job and you can't beat the value for the money.

Review by Keepshooting Customer
I work as a Law Enforcement, EMT and I’m an outfitter for people to get prepared for any kind of scenarios in a BAD WAY, if you have used this device, please give it 5 STARS! This device will give you LIFE or save it, period. It is just as effective as an ACL tourniquet, I own many of them and prefer this device to carry in an outside compartment of your BOB. Thank you again!! This could SAVE YOUR LIFE. And that means everything to me!!

This tourniquet should be carried in every trauma IFAK
Review by Keepshooting Customer
This is my third S.W.A.T.-T tourniquet, as a paramedic in NYC, this should be part of every single trauma kit, every time I go on a shift, there is always one patient that is bleeding to death and there isn't enough pressure gauze and 8-gauge pressure wraps to control the massive bleeding and in many cases the pt bleeds out while the medic is waiting for the supplies to be brought from another part of the ambulance, my last day as a paramedic I'm bringing these to all my future agencies I will be assigned to, so every day in my new agency, we have these stocked in our trunk IFAKs, everytime you come across a trauma call and see patients with arms and legs chopped off by suicide bombers or IEDs, there are always tourniquets in the trunk, but this never happens, because there is a shortage of tourniquets in the field because these other models take so long to get blood stopped and you loose too many patients due to this situation.

Does it's job well. Easy application and compact. Would buy again
Review by Keepshooting Customer
Bought this and the SOF Tactical tourniquet (which is much bulkier) for my personal medkit. I tested them both and I can't see a huge practical difference between the two in terms of functionality, ease of use, or weight (SWAT-T edges out slightly on both weight and packability). In either case, a lot of my concerns about how difficult or impossible it would be to properly apply a tourniquet are now alleboved by having something as compact and efficient as this in my kit. Hopefully I never have to use it for real. In either case, I feel like it would be possible for me to properly apply one in an emergency and save a life. Good product. Definitely buying more.

Great quality, seems like it's sturdy and should last for a while. Definitely a better tourniquet to have in your kit than one that comes in a kit with cheaply made one that's already questionable.

Pretty cool idea and quality construction. If you get one, practice with it on your body and test the knot and velcro portion thoroughly before you rely on it. There are cheaper off brands that are almost as good but you should have one or two of these just in case of some unprepared bug out situation, like a family emergency where there is an evacuation order for a local volcano or your gf just left you and won’t return any texts. Use one of these and practice one handed, its not as intuitive as it looks. If you need more info on IFAKs/blood bleed, try one and take some pics, your smart enough to Google any thing you don’t know. Cheers, Keep It Simple ! And just because its your first day, do not tell the person helping out, thats how all the survivors on carkits shows have died in the beginning...

Well made of high quality material. Not the cheap Chinese knockoffs. Not quite for the pro's, however good for civilian applications or B.O.B. set up. Won't rip a tournie open. Can make up more if needed, so the idea of having a spare for just a bit more insurance, or when a main item is misplaced, stolen or destroyed in a disaster...

Good for wounds below waist and some higher depending how you use it but as written on package it's one of the very best tourniquets on market today. Made by Israeli firm but selling world wide. Hope I never need it but if I do will use! Made to cut off blood supply to body. If there is not enough, use an arm or two, C-A-T-t tourniquet is another excellent stop gap, easier to find, store etc., but like the swat-t its time to give credit where credit is due!

Good tourniquet, easy carry one in your bag/ car, better then none. Can also use one end of tourniquet as windlass. 1 tourniquet works on adult, but it may take some tussle for kids or unconcious person. Better to get 2 tourniquet

My life saving gear! Hopefully it will save someone’s life, either mine or someone else’s. Just keep in your wallet, don’t rely on one to save a life. Better safe than sorry. I would recommend this to any soldier or law enforcement officer, I even keep it in my work truck and every day use tools! You won’t be sorry! You have to try it! And also I would recommend any first responder such as paramedics or fire fighters to have this as their secondary backup! A lifesaver

I have not had to use these tourniquet but I do have them for any kind of situation where I may need one. They do work great for keeping my arms clean. I am a professional massager and keep them in my kit so I can clean my arms between clients. I do think they could work better if they were made of cotton/nylon blend so they would not pick up the scent of latex, they would be less noticeable and more professional looking. I would definitely buy them again and recommend them to anyone looking for tourniquets.

good quality tourniquets at a great price
Review by Keepshooting Customer
I love having a few of these to add to my go bag, survival bag, etc. You never know when they will come in handy and they are inexpensive enough that you can have several. Hopefully you will never need one, but I've seen the benefit in having one when I worked as an emergency medical technician. A lot of emergency personnel swear by the CAT, but if you have one of these in your bag you will never go wrong. They are not as sturdy, or really all that heavy, but they do what they are supposed to do and cost less than 1/3 of the price of a CAT. In fact, I have seen a CAT for sale at an Emergency Management convention for over $100 and they had several there that day and were still trying to move people in on it. There are many higher quality ones, I think, that will serve you well if you can afford them. But for a lightweight trauma control, one you could stick in a backpack or even keep in your car, I think these are a great option. They work and are inexpensive. They can be folded and stored small.
