The SWAT-Tourniquet allows a more rapid means to control extremity bleeding and allows application higher into the groin and axilla than other tourniquets. Its ease of application is one of its greatest benefits; individuals can effectively apply it in seconds with little to no prior training. At a third of the cost and weight of other combat used tourniquets, this tourniquet should find its way forward with every tactical operator.
The SWAT-T tourniquet is available in either orange or black for easy identification and application. Instructions for use are printed on the tourniquet along with the trademark pressure application measure showing just how much pressure to apply to reach occlusion. Stretch the band until the diamond appears and there will be enough pressure to stop or slow severe bleeding.
The SWAT-T was developed by a former Operator/Medic with 14 years experience in Operational Medicine -former USAF Pararescue Journeyman (Para-Jumper or PJ)), Contractor DoJ/FBI SWAT Operations, National Registry Paramedic, and Emergency Medicine Physician. Minimum recommended operating temp. -65 Degree F (-53 Degree C) Maximum recommended operating temp. 180 Degree F (82 Degree C) Preferred long-term storage conditions cool and dry environment.
There are some things you may have and hope to never need to use, and this is one of them. I am very happy to have found your website for the unusual items with great prices.
I feel safer having this in the back of my truck. Even if I have not used it yet, I am confident that with the help of the video, I will be able to apply the tourniquet to myself or my family in the event of a tragic incident.
Our small police department does not have budget for the more expensive NAR tourniquets, but now issues these. We have been trained on how to deploy and I found it to be super easy and more natural to use this tourniquet than others. Not a fan of the black colored version we were issued but got approval to buy and carry the orange one from here.
