In the company's videos about it, they show you being able to just "snap" it open. Not mine, to get it to fully open and lock take pressing the locking button. Since the gun can't be fired with the stock folded, pretty much means you'd BEST leave it locked in the extended position if there's even the slightest chance you might actually need to use it

The Gen 3 folding stock allows my AR 300blk pistol to fit in to my pac nicely. It is well made an looks nice. When folded out is has a nice tight locking system. Easy push button to collapse off to the side. Only down side is adds weight to ur Firearm.
