The US military has a long history with trioxane fuel for ration heating. Once soldiers left active duty service, they began to seek out trioxane for their own camping trips and survival preparation. This was due to the effectiveness of trioxane for heating rations as well as for starting camp fires. One fuel bar is enough to warm an MRE or to get a camp fire going for the night.
