    If the s~!t hits the fan. Don't say I didn't warn you. The one item on my prep list was some kind of jungle hat, Boonie or bush hat. Went with the spec. Because of it being USGI, size, shape & durability are as close to ODG as you can get & I can find in this fashion (aka civilian pattern). Sizing is pretty spot on & fit snugly. Not something I'd want to wear all day, it would drive me nuts. Wish there was some camo pattern options for Boonies in USGI patterns but I doubt we will see those released in the near future, even during Black powder/Retro days. Fit on your head will also require an average fit. The military issues the perfect head gear in a number of ways. You will get more value with a Boonie hat or even the OD & DCU uniform pants. My goal was to be more stealth. In that the forest, grassland and brush can hide the modern look or patterns. Aside from other hunters and the like being there wearing M81 BDU's or boonie. There isn't much you can find or spot in woodland/Terrain. The desert can spot those wearing desert cammies. So we try to break that level of common sighting when hunting in general. It is not possible to hide your eyes, face, hands or shoes. When you try to go stealthy in any kind of kit you need to break the common. The pattern on this Boonie hat helps do that as long as the sizing is right. As far as the spec's and review, it's pretty accurate as it is in most Boonie's out there.

    After reading the many great reviews I decided to buy this boonie hat to replace my old faithful desert tan ball cap I wear when working in the garden or just running errands around town. It fits my large 7 1/4 shaped melon. After a little while the color will fade and get a more weathered and beat up look which is exactly what I want. The one I bought is not as heavy or durable as the old US made boonies which I still have a few of and wore them for years. But, this boonie has good sizing and seems to hold up in washings. If you don't like how it wears or looks just toss it and get another one. Good boonie hat and worth every penny spent.

    ... adjustment makes this hat run a little small so I had to return it for an XL but for the most part it's great and I like the little pockets on the top to stash things like bug spray or bandanas. It looks exactly like it does in the photo 0 people found this helpful
