Realizing that should the families of Department of Defense staff contract pandemic flu could be a disaster to our military, the DoD took the proactive step to ensure each family had this kit and instructions on how to stop the spread of influenza in the event of a pandemic.

With past panics involving SARS, Bird Flu, Swine Flu, and most recently Ebola there is a need to be prepared for a pandemic. The military recognized the dangers of a pandemic that could impact our readiness and decided to produce and distribute these pandemic flu response kits. We think this kit is a perfect kit for more than just pandemics as it has everything you need to prevent catching the flu. This kit was issued NSN# 6545-01-566-9074 and is a currently issued kit from the Department of Defense.

Can't hurt to have on hand

I bought a few of these just to keep them with my emergency supplies. The hand sanitizer is a commercial product, but the surgical masks appear to be much higher quality than those found at drug stores. The contents are well sealed in a heavy plastic pouch and should last for years if unopened. Why run the risk of being unprepared?
