Doesn’t fit in the sheath I was sent. Poor quality control ????????

Well the knife looked okay at first But once I tried to put it in its sheath it goes about halfway and stops. Then when I pulled it out had scratches from some rivets inside the sheath. Those scratches are form trying it twice. Then the buckle doesn’t fit around the handle anyways if it did go down. I tried and tried to force it but to no avail. Just very poor quality control unfortunately. Now got a knife with no sheath ????????

You can't beat this knife for quality & value An Excellent Value !!!
Good solid performer but requires you to reprofile the blade…

The knife is solid, heavy and will be able to take abuse.

I’ve read that the blade is fatter at the tip and that is very true. Someone wrote it was designed this way to punch through aircraft skin. I’ll give them the benefit of doubt and won’t ding them a star for the dull, fat blade.

This knife will require substantial sharpening for it to become a sharp knife. For example, I tried to cut survival (paracord) cord and it took 8 - 10 (lost count) tries to cut the rope where as my pocket knife only took one. I was a bit taken aback by this.

To get it to a usable sharpness, you’ll need to put a 20-25 degree bevel on it and begin sharpening from there. You’ll need to know what you’re doing because the factory edge is not a consistent thickness. It is thicker at the tip.

This might be too expensive of a knife to learn knife sharpening on but you should be okay if you go slow and practice holding the knife at the same angle and watch diy videos. After you’re all done, it will be a very nice knife that you can be proud of.

Still an absurdly good value

There are better knives, but not for $50. It's an incredible value for an American-made survival knife. There's not much additional value you get from spending twice or three times this price for a higher end knife. For a survival tool that's going to spend most of its life put away in a bag or vehicle, there's no reason to spend more than this.

I saw another review and that inspired me to make my own version of Jacob seeds knife from Far Cry 5. I highly recommend this knife, I don’t know about the bad reviews because my knife came sharp, in wonderful condition. I was very pleased with the product and it made for a great project :)
Purpose built. May need modifications to suit your needs.

The blade angle isn’t optimal for my needs. This was designed to punch through a downed aircrafts skin to extricate a pilot. It’s not really aimed at being a general use knife.

Long story short, I reprofiled my edge to about 25 degrees. It took awhile, but now it’s more my speed.
Knife is solid, sheath is cheap and small
Review by Enoch C.

The knife feels good and solid, but they're really cheapening the sheaths. The snaps on the strap are just barely far enough apart to get around the smallest part of the handle. There's a plastic outer sheath along the back and up the bottom, and once I checked how far I was able to get the knife in I took a screwdriver and stretched that out a bit. Now, with some effort, I can get the knife all the way into the sheath and snap the strap.
Beautiful well made knife

This is a really nice knife I love it, comes with a whetstone and some strings (didn’t know what to do with the strings, so I just tied them onto the sheath in case I ever need them). It has a sawback on the blade that cuts through wood decently. My only problem with this is that there are a couple of rivets (or something like that) in the sheath that are positioned in a way that it scratches the knife when you take it out. This doesn’t really make a difference just makes the knife not look as nice because of the scratches.
Stinky sheath.

Knife is nice enough. Full as sin but easy to sharpen. The sheath stinks. Literally stinks. Smells like boiled ass.
Durable but impractical

If you are doing the bushcraft/survival thing, and looking for a blade to use out of the box, this knife is not for you. It is a very durable, heavy (for size), rugged knife, but you will need to put considerable work into the edge. I wanted to love this knife so much, so I spent a few hours with hand tools on the edge starting with a steel file, then various grits of stone. It has a nice edge now, but the blade thickness holds it back from being functional for anyting other than basic work. If bigger, would make a nice chopper. You will need to oil the handle and properly break in the sheath.
